These look great. I too split the wood, but it was my fault as the screw wasn't going into the hole, it went into the wood. My bad. You need to torque the platform a bit to line up the screws with the screw holes. A little black sharpee and nothing shows.Customer Review: Great Product!

Great product. They are easy to put together, constructed well enough, and stay in place. With a full size speaker on top, they are the right height to line up with the middle of your TV on the wall and with your ears as well. Highly recommend.Customer Review: Inexpensive and functional

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on speaker stands. I went to all the retailers and on line stores and these were just perfect for my needs. $29.99 for two. WOW! They arrived in just a couple of days.

"I use the 36" Sanus stands for the back speakers in our Onkyo HT 8000 home theatre system. The stands are about the right height and they are attractive and stable.Nothing about the product I don't like."

The only thing that I would have to say is that they should have put in the description that there where 2 in the box. But i all worked out because it turned out that we needed the other two stands as well.
