Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sangean DT-200X FM-Stereo AM/FM Digital Tuning Personal ReceiverCustomer Review: Sangean High Performance Radio Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this radio after reading a number of positive reviews on various websites. I wanted a radio I could use with noise reduction headphones during my daily commute on the railroad from home to work. Railroad train cars are a steel shell and most radios will not get any decent reception inside the cars unless you have a window seat and you hold the radio next to the window. With this radio I am able to sit on the aisle and listen to numerous stations, both AM and FM on my trip from Connecticut to Manhattan. When I get out of range of the Connecticut stations the New York stations are there. I am very pleased with this radio's performance. Only negative is that although it picks up TV stations 2-13 from NYC well into CT, after Feb. 19, 2009 these stations will disappear when the nation goes to digital TV.
Customer Review: AM Second to none. Summary: 5 Stars
I am quite staisfied with this little radio. It has an amazing AM tuner. I'd say it is as good as my Sangean WR-2 table top radio. We have a 15,000 watt AM station on 1310. It will still get a station 0n 1300, 150 miles away. During the day. FM may not be nearly as good, but still way above average. I read another review that said the ear buds were not up to snuff. I disagree.
A couple of annoyances. It has a round bottom and will not stand up. Who would have thought? It really is hard to believe.
It does not have an FM antenna built in. You have to plug in a wire. Unless you are using the ear buds which couple as the antenna. I have it on AM the majority of the time so that doesn't bother me much. All in all I would purchase it again, in spite of the round bottom.
Customer Review: Great pocket radio Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great compact AM/FM radio. Compact size, easy to use. Digital tuning, lights up, clear sound with good volume. Convenient when you are moving around the house or yard doing things and want a radio on. Some have said it has short battery life. It may be. I bought one for my elderly mother. It does seem to need new batteries often but that may be because she uses it a lot and keeps the volume high. Note: even at high volume there is little distortion. It might be nice to have had an external power supply jack for extended use but it was designed to be a portable radio. This is the second Sangean 200 I bought for an older person. The digital tuning makes it easy for them to find their favorite station. I've used it myself and like it a lot, it's a quality radio.
Customer Review: Back to the future transistor radio Summary: 5 Stars
Here is a shirt-pocket radio with some very nice features. Normal reception is heard through the built-in speaker that does a great job with voice reproduction for AM talk shows (and older ears) and is surprising with FM, also. Sangean has excellent specifications for its radios reception characterisitics, and this one is no disappointment. Station search/seek, favorite station store and one-button selection. Back-lit screen. Surprisingly good frequency response with FM stereo and bass-boost when listening with 'phones or 'buds. Has the ability to tune TV channels, but this band will be useless after February 2009. This radio reminds me of my first transistor radio - fits perfectly in the pocket and is great for pulling in "the game" while you're out and about.
Customer Review: Pleasantly Surprised... Summary: 5 Stars
This little radio is the first thing I've ever bought out of the "Gold Box" and I'm glad I did. My old walkman was getting a little long in the tooth and I was looking for something lighter and more powerful. This is it. It arrived today and I'm happy to say it's small and lightweight, and for the first time since I moved to the boonies, I can get my two favorite AM stations. I can barely get them on my Bose wave radio. They're not crystal clear, but that was in my kitchen (worst reception area), so hopefully when I get outside for my run, it will improve. Even if it doesn't, it was good enough. TV channels were perfect. Also, I didn't realize when I bought it that it has a built-in speaker, so you don't need headphones to use it. I'm very pleased.
