Customer Review: Best radio for walks

When I walk my dog, I like to listen to news, talk, music. But I have a short attention span and don't like commercials, so I'm constantly changing channels. The advantage of the DT-200X is I can scroll through all 19 of my favorite stations by pressing one button on the upper right corner of the radio. Whether a favorite is AM or FM makes no difference. One button will scroll through all. I keep the radio in my shirt pocket so I don't look at it when I'm changing channels. I just feel for the upper right corner and press.
With most radios, when I hear a commercial, I have to maybe press the AM/FM button, then choose button 1-5 of my presets, moving my finger along from button to button until I find what I want.
Two other things I like: It uses 2 AA batteries. They last longer than AAA batteries. And, It has a stereo/mono switch. I usually choose mono because it gives clearer sound on weak FM stations.

I have always listened to AM radio in the morning while getting ready for work, in order to catch latest news, weather, traffic, etc. I have ALWAYS had issues with reception drifting in and out, or being strong one day and weak the next. All that has changed... This Sangean DT-200X is awesome! It never has reception drift, it has a clear, backlit LCD display showing digitally exactly what station is being accessed and its status (not one of those slide scales where you have to guess when you are on the station). I think the battery life could be a little better (I got 3 months out of batteries on this radio, vs 6 months plus on others) but if I have to pop in a few extra batteries over the course of a year to get GUARANTEED, CRISP, CLEAR AM reception, then it is a very small price to pay. If you have been a long-suffering AM radio person like me, in search of a small yet effective unit, then buy this. You will not be sorry.Customer Review: BETTER THAN EVER

My first Sangean pocket radio is over seven years old and working great, despite every kind of abuse known to man. This one is even better. 19 presets should be enough for anybody, and you'll like the MY FAVORITE button for instant access to your favorite station. The LIGHTED DIAL is a nice touch. As always, the Sangean TUNER is exceptional, both AM and FM.
It is also HIGHLY INTUITIVE - you probably won't even need the instructions. Contrary to some reviews, it DOES incorporate DBB ("deep bass boost") primarily intended for use when wearing headphones, but which provides a slight sound improvement through the speakers at low volume.
The bottom of the radio is just slightly rounded, making it impossible to stand the unit upright when you're listening to it through the speaker. Look at it this way - if you can't stand it up, you can't knock it over!
This is a DYNAMITE portable radio.

This is a great radio.The reception is very good in Southwest Virginia (that means mountains). I use this radio for several hours each day, both at home and at work. The digital tuning and the presets make finding a station really easy....I am very glad that I upgraded from my Sony.
The earbuds sound great and stay in my ears. Battery life is ok, but I have managed this by using some rechargeable batteries.

Still solid as a rock. I have dropped this radio on the pavement several times and except for some minor scratches it is perfect. Reception is very good.
TV channels are now obsolete, since the digital conversion, but I rarely used them anyway.
Still using rechargeable batteries and I change them when the battery icon indicates a low battery.
One of my favorite possessions.

I HAVE HAD THIS RADIO FOR FOUR MONTHS NOW AND CAN SAY THAT THE QUALITY IS SECOND TO NONE. I HAVE ACCIDENTLY DROPPED THE RADIO ON A HARD SURFACE TWO TIMES AND NOT A SCRATCH, DENT OR DISFUNCTIONAL FEATURE ON THE RADIO. SOUND QUALITY FOR THE RADIO IS ALSO SPECTACULAR. ONE WOULD THINK THEY WERE LISTENING TO A RADIO FOUR OR FIVE TIMES THE SIZE OF THIS SANGEAN RADIO. THIS COMPANY MUST TAKE SPECIAL CARE TO PRODUCE A PRODUCT WITH THE FINE QUALITY OF THIS RADIO. THE PRICE IS DEFINITELY FAIR FOR THIS SPECIAL PRODUCT. ALSO, I MIGHT MENTION THAT THE BATTERY LIGHT IS GREAT. THE BATTERY LIFE IS EXCELLENT AS I HAVE ONLY USED HALF THE BATTERY LIFE OF THE INITIAL BATTERIES INSTALLED.
WHAT MORE CAN I SAY...WHATEVER IT IS, IT WOULD BE TO RAVE EVEN MORE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT.
