Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sangean America DT-210 DT-210 AM/FM Digital Tuning Pocket RadioCustomer Review: Got this as a Christmas gift Summary: 5 Stars
I love this radio! It has a lock feature that stops the radio from changing stations and also getting accidentally turned on. My old radio constantly got turned on while in my bag and I can't tell you how many dead batteries I had.
The settings are easy to use, the radio is lightweight and easy to stick in a pocket. I still have good reception in known deadspots that would make me lose reception with my old radio.
February 2011 update:
I still use this radio every single day! I still love it too. The only thing I would change is for it to have some sort of battery life indicator. I usually carry 2 AAAs for when I run out of power but there is no warning of how much life your batteries do have. The radio just goes out.
Customer Review: Great Product/Right Price Summary: 5 Stars
After quite a bit of research, I opted for this Sangean radio. I am very pleased with it after two months of use. I live in a fringe area, so a good tuner is important, and digital is the best. I use the AM for picking up broadcasts of ballgames from up to 150 miles away (Chicago/St Louis) and receive strong signals with minimal static. The FM works fine as well, easily receiving stations 60 miles way. I use the speaker most of the time, although the earplugs and the belt clip come in handy when walking or mowing the grass. So far, the battery life seems acceptable, as I have yet needed to change for new ones. So far, I'm very satisfied with the quality of the sound and the tuning sensitivity is above average. I would buy it again and recommend it highly.
Customer Review: Don't leave home without it! :-) Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this in Feb of 06. After three months, it (and I) got caught in a downpour and the unit ceased to work. I was extremely disappointed. So I set it aside and used a backup unit after that, but after about a month, just for kicks I decided to put some fresh batteries in the Sangean and lo and behold, it worked just like new again! I've thoroughly enjoyed it since then and would recommend it to anyone needing a pocket sized am/fm radio (and the new lower price helps, too). It pulls in all the local and area am stations I need, and it sounds great on the fm dial. There is only one thing I would add to it, and that is a low battery indicator. You get no warning whatsoever before your batteries give out. Other than that, it's three thumbs up!
Customer Review: Simplicity at its best Summary: 5 Stars
I've owned my radio for over a year now. It has never failed me. I listen on it to and from work every day (~2mi each way). The reception is pretty good. I get every station that is located and advertised in my area plus some that actually am not able to get with my car radio. Sound quality is fine, I primarily listen to NPR so that's not really a deal breaker for me. I haven't made much use of the speaker, but when I have used it, its been nice. The battery life is simply amazing. I can't remember the last time I've changed them. Overall this is a simple, well designed product. I wish it was a little cheaper but I've gotten my money out of it and then some... I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a portable radio that has no hastles.
Customer Review: Almost as good as my car radio Summary: 5 Stars
I commute via park and ride bus in Houston daily. The only way I find the bearable is to listen to the NPR news. I have tried two fairly cheap Sony handheld Fm radios, but there are some parts of the commute where the audio breaks down badly with hiss and interference, and some days the whole commute seems this way. After a week with the Sangean DT-210V, I am happy with the reception on the entire journey. It is marginally better set to mono, and it is news, not music that I listen to. Even set to stereo, the reception is far superior to my other two units, and pretty close to the reception I get from my car on the odd occassion I have to drive in. It costs a bit more, but the extra cost is well worth it for the better reception.
