Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sangean America DT-210 DT-210 AM/FM Digital Tuning Pocket Radio

Customer Review: Perfect little desktop radio
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this radio for a couple of months now and really couldn't be happier. I won't repeat what has already been said, but I will tell you this: I have not seen a radio yet that can bring in a clear FM signal within my office building. That's where the Sangean comes in...not only does this radio finally allow me to listen to two of my favorite radio stations, it also brings TV audio in clearly too!

One tip that I will give is that I have mine resting against a Fellowes Copyholder and that makes it even better because now I don't have to worry about the radio falling over and the speaker now points directly towards me. Here's a link so that you can get a better idea: Fellowes(R) Kopy-Aid(R) Metal Copyholder, Black

There's really nothing more to say. The speaker sounds great and delivers a perfect level of volume for my needs, reception is better than anything else I've used, and it's small size makes it a perfect little desktop radio!

Customer Review: Great FM reception in tough circumstances
Summary: 5 Stars

I like to listen to a low-power college radio station (WRUV-FM rocks!) while I walk to work. I live in a hilly area and walk past various power lines. Consequently, I've always had to adjust the position of my headphone wire (i.e., antenna) and suffer through getting blasted by repeated bursts of static. Some days I'd just turn the radio off and give up.

Two weeks ago I bought a new radio with digital tuning, hoping to get better reception. It was just as bad as my old one. I returned it. Then I read about this little gem and took a chance. It arrived yesterday.

Wow! Today I had GREAT reception during my entire walk. I even made an effort to go where I was never able to get a clean signal before, but the radio still sounded great. I'm really pleased.

I selected the DT-210V rather than other Sangean models because it includes the bass boost. The other models didn't seem to have that feature. My only criticism is that accessing the preset stations requires a couple of steps - I can't yet do it without looking.

Customer Review: Review of Sangean DT-210V Radio
Summary: 5 Stars

I am very happy that I bought this radio. I use it at work - at my new job everyone is in close proximity with everyone else and they all listen to thier IPods. I had a small clock radio that I had at my other job for years and I brought that in and I tried to keep it really low so no one could hear it but the way we are seated some could hear it. If it got on their nerves, I would just turn it off. But after a week, it was stolen so I decided I needed a small pocket size radio that I could listen to with earplugs so that I would not bother anyone and one that was easy to carry back and forth to work. Reception is not great in this building but this radio brings in my favorite station crystal clear and I can even listen to TV stations, which is pretty cool. Overall I am very pleased with this radio. I agree with one of the other reviewers in that the instructions could have been written in more detail. But I figured everything out and I would recommend this radio to anyone who wants a small portable radio with good sound.

Customer Review: lightweight yet solid
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this little radio! After lugging around another brand "pocket size" radio, this one is light as a feather! I'm still not exactly sure how to program the thing (as other reviewers stated, the little owners manual leaves something to be desired, but it is a great little unit) It has a little button where you "lock" in what you are listening to so that it doesn't inadvertently skip to another station. Yet, you can still adjust the volume even though the station is locked in! Good feature. I researched these little pocket size radios because I want to listen to music, talk radio and tv shows while walking my dog. This is just what I was looking for. Seems like a solid little unit. I bought this one over the DT 200 because this has an auto=turn=off feature after 90 minutes, (the other unit, DT 200 shut off after 60 minutes. Too soon for me. Plus, I think I read that you can disable this feature in the DT 210 but not the DT 200... Go for this little unit. You'll be happy.

Customer Review: Awesome Little Radio
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought the 210V looking specifically for a pocket radio with good AM reception as I am an AM DXer (long distance reception) and I'd heard that this was pretty sensitive on AM. It is impressive - 9/10 khz selectable tuning so trans-oceanic DX is a possibility from the coasts. Took it with me on a trip to the Louisville area, and was amazed. Good reception from as far away as Denver(KOA), NYC (WABC, WCBS, etc), Minneapolis (WCCO) using the internal ferrite bar. Set next to a loop such as a Terk or Select-a-tenna, reception is even better. From here in Idaho, WCCO, WBAP, and other big 50 kilowatters are regulars using only the internal ferrite bar.

I don't spend much time on FM, other than listening to out local NPR station, but it sounds good, very good in fact. The bass boost feature really brings out the FM. Nice.

This radio definitely exceeded my expectations regarding its AM capabilities. Highly recommended.
