Customer Review: The sweet spot
Summary: 4 Stars

I was looking for a travel radio that could double as a speaker for my iPod. The PR-D5 and SongBook were too big, and the PR-D5 has no AUX-in. I waited for the rumored PR-D8 and D9 until my vacation was upon me and I ordered this at the last minute. It's about the size of a hardcover book, and is heavy with with four D batteries. However, it's sturdy and stable and pulls in stations very well. Also, the single speaker sounds great and can reasonably rock on the go. The weather stations are good when you need them altho the TV band is, at this point, pretty useless.

So sweet, I can't believe I waited, and I idon't think I'll be bummed when the new models do finally come out. I'm thinking about using this one as a clock radio - it's got all the features and looks pretty sharp.

Customer Review: For the money, a decent product
Summary: 4 Stars

I have had in the past two other Sangean Radios (the CC Radio & the 'Q'
Radio.) The problem with both of them, was that the LED display faded out after a Year or so. I was skeptable to try another product because of this. I did anyways & I have owned it for almost 2 years and have had no problems at all with the LED display! As far as the Radio the reception is very good. It rivals the CC radio. It's easy to use & has a two hour sleep timer which is a great feature. Also I use it daily and the batteries last a long time. The sound is also very good. I would highly recommend this radio.

Customer Review: Sonido Crane Radio
Summary: 4 Stars

I love this small radio. I was introduced to it in another home and decided I had to have one. It has great sound, reception has not been an issue, and it's completely portable on battery power or the adapter. (I haven't tested the length of time on the 4"D's.) My radio is always on and I wanted a radio that I could grab for the porch or leave in a room. So far the sound reception has not meant holding your mouth in a certain position while adjusting the antenna. My only negative is it doesn't have a timer for sleeping to music.

Customer Review: Strong FM, Excellent Speaker Sound, But Mediocre AM
Summary: 4 Stars

At $90, the Sonido is a very good radio with excellent FM and speaker sound. But the Sangean PR-D5 offers similar performance (I prefer the Sonido's single 3-inch speaker to the PR-D5's dual 2.5-inch speakers), but overall the $70 PR-D5 is better because its 200mm (8-inch) ferrite antenna, produces vastly superior AM reception.

Twenty dollars less with better AM, the PR-D5 is a better buy. I wish I had bought 2 PR-D5s.

Customer Review: Great Radio
Summary: 4 Stars

I would give this 4.5 stars. It has excellent fringe area reception and voices are clear coming out of the speaker. It seems to have less static noise even during lightning storms. The easy presets make it very easy to use!!!!

The one think that could be done is to have more than five AM presets. Then I would give it 5 stars.
