I bought the Sangean so I would be able to listen to the radio while we're in our spa on our patio. It's perfect for that. I don't have to worry about it getting splashed or even whether it gets knocked in (but I'll try to avoid that test). The sound is superb, and I find myself using it to listen to NPR in the morning instead of turning on the stereo or another radio. It's handy, flexible and very sturdy. It's pricey, but I haven't seen anything that compares to it for less.
