The Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 reader is the best reader that I have used over the past 5 years when I have taken many thousands of images...using new professional quality digital cameras results in large files which this reader handles quickly and seamlessly. Well manufactured as you would expect from a SanDisk product. Tucks in easily for compact storage. I only use Compact Flash but appreciate the convenience of other media modes if I ever need them. This was plug and play for my Windows XP System.
The specs don't say, but I was able to use with CF Extreme III as well as II with no problems.

I used to download my pictures using a PCMCIA card reader, and even the fast CF cards would take forever to download (approx. 0.9 Mbps). When I got the Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 reader, I was able to get downloads 16 times faster, up to 14.8 Mbps, so a 2Mb 133x card went from over 40 minutes to 2 1/2 minutes to download, so I'm really impressed.Customer Review: Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 Reader

Very good product. Installed very easy and works great. Another plus to having a reader is that it takes the wear of downloading what is on the chip off of the camera. I was told that downloading from the camera does put considerable wear on the camera. I have purchased three of these (work, home and as a gift for my mom) and they are great. I have an old 4x CF card and it downloaded 214MB of images in about 60 seconds. It also downloaded 200+ MB of images from a SanDisck Extreme III CF card in about 15 seconds.
I think that it is well worth the $20 I paid for it.
