I use this to transfer images from trial cameras to a laptop computer. This allows us to simply remove the storage card and we can see the images right in the woods.
Later we use the reader to transfer the images to our home computer. No problems encountered at all and the transfer is really quick. One card had over 500 images and the download was much quicker than I expected.

Quality item, very well make. I am a Mac user, and this card reader works fine for OS9, OSX 10.3 and 10.4. And it is fast using USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 for OS9), faster than the Lexar firewire CF card readers I have. The cards fit into this reader very easily, many card readers have a very bad fit, but this one has a great fit for all card types. I bought this USB Card Reader because I shoot photos in RAW format. They are usually about 11MB each and I fill up 2-4GB cards. My old ready would take between 20min-over an hour to download them. This ready is so much faster it is unbelievable. It would be faster if I were using a desktop and not a laptop. It is limited by the hard drive speed. I use this to get images from my SanDisk compact Flash cards to my laptop at much, much higher speeds than downloading directly from the USB 2.0 "high speed" port on my camera. It is around 10% faster than the card reader built into my Dell 2405FPW monitor. The only possible negative I can imagine is that the high gloss finish may not wear too well.
Highly recommended.

This is a great lightweight product that does everything it says it does. I like to travel compact when I go out shooting. This thing is only a little fatter and larger than a CF card and is virtually hollow so it carries like a little chunk of plastic. All you need is the simple USB to mini USB cable to connect it to either mac or pc. Simple, but great product.
