Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sandisk Extreme USB 2.0 3in1 Card Reader (SDDRX3-3IN1-901, US Retail Package)Customer Review: Small, fast, and reliable Summary: 5 Stars
I used to have a CF card reader that slid into a PCMCIA slot on a Powerbook but I had to look for a new solution after i bought my MacBook Pro which has a smaller express slot instead. This is exactly what i was looking for. it doesn't support ALL types of memory cards know to mankind and i really don't need it to. for that reason, it comes in a small package that is easy to pack away in my bag. When importing RAW images, it performs much better than connecting directly to the camera (not to mention saving battery life of the camera). It also accommodates SD cards for my smaller p&s camera. simple, fast, and reliable. I haven't had any trouble with it. i recommend it.
Customer Review: Fast, compact, and rather handsome too Summary: 5 Stars
Not much to say, but this is definitely a very nice CompactFlash and SD reader (I don't use any variant of Memory Stick). The speed is blazing, with RAW and JPG files blitzing along almost instantly, and unlike so many other models out there, it isn't from some unknown manufacturer and it doesn't try to read a gazillion formats (who the heck uses Smart Media anymore anyway?). Really, if Sandisk made a slow reader, they'd lose a heck of a lot of business selling flash, so they're bound to do a better job than some fly by night outfit you've never heard of, and I value my pictures way too much to ruin them on a cheap $10 reader when a $20 reader is so much better.
Customer Review: John's Review Has All You Need To Know Summary: 5 Stars
I read John Hillmer's review dated April 1, 2007 and it conviced me that this would be the best card reader for my boyfriend because it addressed all the things he complains about when uploading his photos. I gave it to him for Christmas and he loves it. He has a Rebel XTI and found this card reader to be much faster than even reading the images directly from the camera (which was previously much faster than using his old card reader). He likes its compact size which fits easily into his camera case, and the fact that it has a rubberized bottom so it does not slide around on the table when he is uploading images. Overall a great card reader, and a good value.
Customer Review: Lightning fast . . . Summary: 5 Stars
If you have a digital camera and shoot in the RAW format, you will most likely be dealing with some huge files. My old card reader was taking an eternity to transfer data, so after checking the reviews I got this one.
There are good reasons why this product is so highly rated. The performance is amazing, lightning fast, just as advertised. Downloading a filled 4GB CF card which used to take about an hour, now takes less than five minutes. Besides compact flash, there is also a slot for SD cards.
A high speed reader like this is a real time saver at the start of the workflow process, and well worth the modest price.
Customer Review: Very fast - super easy to use Summary: 5 Stars
It is definitely much faster than the camera's interface, and just as easy to use. Plug it in, when you insert a card the card shows up as a disk. When you eject the disk, just yank the card and pop the next one in.
Needs no drivers on my Mac (OS X 10.4.9 Intel), and I suspect being a generic USB disk device, probably doesn't need any drivers on any other platform either.
Absolutely worth getting once you start going to higher capacity cards or have lots of them to download. The time saved more than pays for this device.
Also is ultralightweight and is bus-powered. Just a normal mini-usb cable is all that is needed.
