Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Ultra SDHC 4GB SD Memory Card (SDSDRH-004G-A11, US Retail Package)Customer Review: Works great ! Summary: 5 Stars
It is really amazing to watch the prices of these cards drop while storage size increases. A few years ago, I spent more for a 128mb SD card! Couple of things, however:
1.This is a SDHC card, it may not work in an older camera.
2.The reader** is black rather than white (as shown)*. If you wish to match a white MacBook, for example, check here:
Sandisk MicroMate SD/ SDHC Memory Card Reader (White, BULK Package)
Card and reader work GREAT, no problems.
* Update 11/14/08: It appears that the picture has been changed to show the correct color for this item... Thanks Amazon!
** It appears that the USB reader is not included anymore ?
Customer Review: Fantastic speed and capacity for the price Summary: 5 Stars
Bottom line, the card gets the job done. I gave this (and other camera accessories) to my girlfriend for her birthday, and this card was the highlight of the gift. She is now able to take photos faster because of the reduced time it takes for the camera to save the photo data to the disc--it's actually MUCH faster (she had a 1 gig card of unknown speed before). While my girlfriend rarely goes a day without moving her pictures from her camera to her computer, the card is able to hold as many photos as she can take. Gone are the days of having to delete photos off her card because it was full. 4GB is more than enough for anyone who doesn't need a ridiculously unreasonable amount of memory (such as for sports shooting) and I recommend this card for it's low price and fast speed. Great work, SanDisk.
Customer Review: Thank you for this card!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have bought several cards, but my camera would have problems trying to put pictures on them. I kept getting write errors on any cards I put in my camera, so I was loosing all the important pictures I was needing to take. Thanks to this SD card my worries were over. I bought a Fujifilm Finepix S1000fd, and my camera cant keep up with how fast this card reads data. With regular cards it would take a few seconds to be able to take another picture while it processed to the card, so I was loosing valuable shoot time. The pictures that were being saved to the card were averaging from 3mb to 5mb, but this card does its job and is fast! I recommend this card to anyone who needs a fast card, and a reliable one.
Thanks for reading my review,
Matt.
Customer Review: Works great in Canon S3 Summary: 5 Stars
The 9MB write speed of this card does not really benifit the Canon S3's video mode since even at 640x480, the S3 only writing about 2MB per second. If you plan to take lots of video, you'd probably be better served with a larger less expensive Class 2 or Class 4 card. If you use the continous shooting mode for kids activities, sporting events, action shots, etc.; this card is what you want. With this card, the Canon S3 can take non-stop photos at the highest resolution and maximum image quality when using the fastest continous shooting mode. I expireinced absolutley no slow downs or buffering with this card and images were averaging about 3200KB-3600KB per shot. You can fill the card without any buffering if you keep the shutter button depressed.
Customer Review: Great quality card for the price Summary: 5 Stars
I did quite a bit of research and found that there was not much sense buying a huge capacity card since shooting with a 4 Gig card in jpeg gave me a bit more than 500 shots. The read/write speed of 15 mb/s is totally sufficient for a camera that takes 3-4 frames per second in continuous shooting mode. There's a tendency for some folks to want to buy the biggest and fastest cards only to find that the specs exceed the camera's ability to capitalize on the speed and features of the card. You end up spending a lot of money for something that you really don't need. This is a great value for the money and by buying several, I don't end up with all my eggs in one basket in the unlikely but tragic event that the card somehow was corrupted.
