Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Sansa e250 2 GB MP3 Player with microSD Expansion Slot (Black)Customer Review: great little machine Summary: 5 Stars
i have only owned one other mp3 player in my life, and that was 128k flash player by iaudio. it was one of the first to come out, so it obviously pales in comparison to the players today. I have messed around with ipods and others before, but never owned one, so my background on these players is limited. however, i do know that the ipods are overhyped and over priced. in my opinion, there is no comparison between this player and the nano. this blows it away with all the added features, and it's cheaper. i have had it now for about 2 weeks and so far it's awesome. the only negative, and it is very small, is that the front is a fingerprint magnet, but let's get real here folks, if that really bothers you a lot you have got some serious issues. other than that, it has great sound, and it's simple and intuitive. it's also the perfect size. there defintely is such a thing as too small, especially if you are a big guy with big hands, but this machince fits nicely in the hand and is easy to operate one handed. the buttons really arent that hard to push, depsite what some other reviewers say. i got used to them in about 5 minutes. the program that comes with it to upload videos and photos is also very simple. it's just a drag and drop system, just like you would do if you were using windows explorer.
bottom line is that it looks great, sounds great, it's easy to use, it has a replacable battery, and it has a lot of features that no other player in this price and memory size range do. you won't be disappointed.
Customer Review: Great features for the price! Summary: 5 Stars
I have a cheap 128 mb mp3 player and was looking to upgrade. I was specifically looking for a 2 gb player and had been shopping around. The Sandisk e250 came up here on Amazon for $99. which seemed like a great price for all the features that it had.
I didn't really care about putting photos or video on it but the large color screen is a nice feature. This player works great with Windows Media Player 10. I plugged it into my computer and dumped 102 songs to the player in no time. And it's not even 1/4 full. I can load tons more music on it, and if needed, I can even add an extra 1 mb microSD card.
I found the menu system to be quite intuitive and didn't need to resort to the user's guide. I'm happy with the sound quality but I'm not a big fan of ear buds and might pick up a set of lightweight headphones.
I like the rechargeable battery and it appears to have a long life. The fact that it is replaceable by the customer is a plus also.
The one thing I don't really like is that the e250 won't play while it's attached to the computer. With my old player I could take it to work, plug it into a USB port and play my music through the computer. Using earbuds or headphones at work is not an option so I won't be able to use this player at work.
Overall I'm extremely pleased with this player. It has tons of features and compares favorably with players easily costing twice as much. It's a lot of bang for the buck.
Customer Review: Top of the Line! Summary: 5 Stars
I love my Sansa! This is great little machine, rated one of the best by Consumer's Reports, which is why I bought it. But I know now from personal experience why it is rated so high. I only have the 2GB model but I can still fit about 800 songs on it in WMA 64kbps. They just came out with the 8GB model. I want it! The company has great customer service, you can get an ebox on their website and all of my questions have been answered within hours of submitting them. One thing to be careful of, contact them before updating firmware. Their are a few very important steps they don't tell you about in the manual or on the website that could crash your device, as I found out. They promptly took care of the problem for me, but they do need to make that info known. Nonetheless, I recommend any Sandisk product, whether it be any of their digital music players or memory cards, or flash drives. They are the best in the market. These players have not been on the market that long so they are still working through some problems, but are willing to help with anything that might go wrong. The manual is not the greatest, unless it has been updated since I made my purchase in 05/2006. After a while of using it regularly, you will figure it out and be glad that you did. Unlike many digital music players, the Sansa's battery can be replaced, rather than having a dead machine once the battery can no longer be recharged. The memory card slot is great for the option of increasing storage space. [...]

Customer Review: Highly recommended mp3 player Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted an inexpensive mp3 player for the occasional plane trip, dental office visit, etc. I wanted it to be easy to use, have good capacity and a good screen, and I didn't need a lot of bells and whistles. I definitely did not want to spend a lot of money, so that eliminated iPods. This one had good reviews on Amazon so I took a shot. I bought the 2MB version (1000 songs using wma) and it is expandable if needed.
I'm quite impressed with this little guy. It cost about $45 with shipping, and BeachCamera.com got it to me as promised. It's about $65 now on Amazon as of 8/15/08.
I only use it for music, (so I can't comment on the video, voice recording, etc), and I am totally pleased. I charged it up, downloaded the latest firmware from the SanDisk website, and I just started ripping CD's to my computer, and then to the unit. Transfer is a breeze, and it works great. I saw a few reviews where it didn't work properly or not at all, but that was not my experience. I strongly suggest downloading the latest firmware to eliminate the possibility that the unit's firmware is not current.
One thing to consider: It plays mp3 and wma, but NOT mp4, so stuff downloaded from iTunes won't work. Maybe some of the conversion programs available on shareware will work, but I didn't try any.
If your needs are like mine, don't spend more than you have to. This is the one!
