Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Sansa c250 2 GB MP3 Player (Black)

Customer Review: Great alternative to 2GB iPod Nano
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a great and cheaper alternative to the 2GB iPod Nano. I like the fact that it is expandable using Micro SD cards and has voice recording capabilities. The unit is also easy to use, I figured out most of the functions in an hour (hint: get familiar with the menu options and visit Sandisk's site for some videos on using this unit). The unit's functions are accessable with one hand after you are familiar with them. Tip: To turn off the Sansa, press MENU once and then press and hold MENU for 2 seconds

You can use the supplied software to put your music on it but I found using Windows Media Player 11 is the easiest way to do so. I have not used Rhapsody to buy and upload any music to my Sansa yet.

Sound quality is excellant using the supplied earbuds, I had slightly mixed results with the sound quality using my car's cassette deck (the songs ripped at higher bit rates sounded better).

I am hoping that Sandisk (and others) develope a more complete set of accessories for this unit like a docking unit and a case.

Customer Review: Very nice, and easy to use.
Summary: 5 Stars

Very nice and light. I bought this for my neice, but was drawn to keep asking to see it again, and again just cause it's such a cool little device. I like it better than my ipod video (hardly use the video), due to the sound quality matching...maybe surpassing it. The addition of the picture player is nice...although a small screen is nice for album art. It supports the mini sd chip to transfer data to/from...which threw me for a loop. My cellphone also supports this format, but haven't tested the compatibility of pictures taken from my phone to the unit. Still, it seems you can upgrade the units storage with this option. I think she loves this unit...I know I do.

Pros - It's less expensive/smaller/lighter than the apple alternative...and does more. The sound quality is nice due to quality earbuds (my opinion). The built in mic is a nice feature (stereo recording), as well as the FM radio (great reception).

Cons - I don't see any cons at this time. For the price, this unit is just awesome!

Customer Review: inexpensive but highly adequate
Summary: 5 Stars

I wanted a music player that would not be overpriced but would store a lot of songs so i could select per my mood. Do I want classical? jazz? opera? maybe a little Phil Collins or would I rather listen to general 1980s or maybe some punk. how about Queen? Or greats from the 70's. This player allows you to select playlists based upon album or artist, to shuffle, randomize. I do seem to notice that when I select to play all music from a single artist, like all 5 albums of Reliant K, it only selects some to play. I have not fully explored this asset as I use it mostly in my car and at the gym. The tape converter on my car radio died, so I am suffering. When are they going to just put in a USB plug in on the fron of car radios? Maybe they do, I'm too busy to get out much. Anyway, this player isn't terribly fancy, but it is highly adequate, not very expensive, and it has done a very good job these last 6 months and going.

Customer Review: A simple, Cheap, Easy to Use, MP3 player
Summary: 5 Stars

This Sansa MP3 player is a good alternative to the more expensive models. The screen is clear and bright. I had to adjust the brightness to a lower grade just because the default setting was "too bright" for me.
The sound is good. It's loud, crisp and clear. I do wish it had a louder volume setting but what's there is pretty good. The controls are easy to use and self explanatory. You can easily load and delete songs through Windows Media Player. I do wish the battery life was longer and that it had a clock. The extra features of a voice recorder, FM stereo, and photo display are nice. It also charges through the USB port on the computer, which is a tad inconvienent if your computer is not readily accessable. Also, I have noticed that the accessories for this model are limited.
It's a good price and a good MP3 player. There's really nothing wrong with it. Everything works well

Customer Review: Great deal

Reformat the internal flash on Linux as fat32, install Rockbox, & it's a pocket powerhouse. You get lossless audio, filesystem based playlists, mpeg-1 video with full CD audio, jpeg photos, synchronization with car ignition, very fast navigation. Rockbox only works with version 1 of the firmware & it's a bit clunky with USB but works.

RockBox crashes & falls back on the stock firmware for USB, so although RockBox supports SDHC cards, you can't write the SDHC cards on it.

Not sure what use video on it is, but it could be fun if you still ride in your parent's car on long trips.

Not sure what firmware version Amazon is currently shipping. The stock firmware either can't play files without ID3 tags or needs a windows program to import files. It definitely needs a Windows program to import photos & forget about video.
