Customer Review: Excellent Product and Excellent Amazon Customer Service
Summary: 5 Stars

I am so impressed with Amazon customer service,a function that many of us have come to despise. I was going away on vacation in 5 days and concerned that I wouldn't get my Sansa (like Santa) in time. I lost my last one and missed it very much. So I called Customer service, hoping I would get it in 3 or 4 days so I load it up before I left. The woman I spoke was very polite and helpful and checked on the Status of my order. She was great. It was going to be shipped out today at July 27 2009. I was shocked, and extremely pleased, when I received it today- one day after I called customer service. Also there system where call you right back rather than talking to some stupid artificial voice that a lot of companies have. Or go through several phone menus without situation, or beig put o hold for 10 minutes because the compay is too cheap to hire enough staff; or talk to someone who can barely understand English.

I have spent a lot of money at Amazon over the years, and never had a bad experience. You get great prices and great, and reliable service. I don't like dealing with most companies because they can be disingenuous, deceptive, disorganized, and have little or no return policy or customer service. Amazon is definitely different- much better.

The Sansa is a great little item. I can't really understand why someone would spend a hundred $ more for an ipod. Also Sandisk customer service is great- i had to return one and they sent me back a new one and were super nice. The design of the product is great as it the sound, if you buy the right headphones (I bought Sennheiser px100's that are specifically made for mmp3/ipod- the Sansa sounds super with these headphones I also bought at Amazon). The navigation and filing capabilities on this item are exceptional. If yoy buy this withe headphones I mentioned you'll have something that gives awesome sound and is still much cheaper than an Ipod.

Thanks Amazon and thanks Sandisk for a great buying, service and sound experience.SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Black)

Customer Review: Wonderful Upgrade from older Sansa products
Summary: 5 Stars

I had been hunting for a replacement for my older Sansa Connect MP3 player w/ wi-fi to something equal or better and in my budget range. After a few hours of clicking between models and looking at spec's I kept coming back to the SanDisk Sansa Fuze 4 GB Video MP3 Player (Black). I could have gone up to the 8 gig model but being on a strict budget I went with the 4 gig model and purchased an SanDisk 8GB microSDHC (SDSDQ-8192) Memory Card w/Adapter (Bulk Package) plus got the adapter pack that came with an auto adapter, home adapter, sansa cable, a nice cover skin that sticks to your hand and a belt clip and armband. All this was well inside my budget and I trust Sansa products so that's what I got. It came almost at light speed in 3 separate orders and I got busy loading videos, music, Podcast's right away. This player comes with FM radio which replaced the wi-fi my Sansa Connect had, the wi-fi on the Connect also forced you to Yahoo's music service which was a monthly fee. The wi-fi on this Connect is a long story so I will spare you, other than to say I got ripped off as it started out as free Internet Radio.
Anyway if your on a budget and want something easy to use and fun to have get this unit. I've used the video option on this unendingly. I just got a John Wayne movie for this player to add to other John Wayne movies I've gotten. They have so many movies on the net it's unreal. They may not be the newest movies, but if you like old movies they have them. And with the Sansa Media Converter, which is free, you can convert all your movies to the Fuze format without fail. I also use the music player for all my Old Time Radio broadcasts. Nothing like a Jack Benny show to put you in a good mood. lol
Again this unit is well worth buying, even if your on a budget.

Customer Review: Buy the Fuze!
Summary: 5 Stars

I love my SanDisk Fuze 4 GB player. I'm sorry I waited this long to get one. It's great! The thing I can add or echo from the other reviews is that, yes, my only complaint about the player is the on/off switch, and the instructions could be much more explicit. Anyone who is computer literate, shouldn't have any problem operating this player. Think of the button and wheel as a mouse on a computer....same function. It would be nice if there were an alphabetical search function, but the wheel gets you there quick enough.

The only other thing I can add is when adding files to your player, you need to pick one way and stick to it: either Windows Explorer, or Media Player. I tried mixing the two, and it doesn't work. The player gets our of sync somehow, and files become inaccessible. I actually learned this the hard way, and had to totally reformat the player once after I had quite a lot of files on it, because some of the files became inaccessible after trying to do some Explorer drag and drops after I had added files with Media player. I just stick to Media player now (you have to understand and use your options well though!), otherwise you will add lots of files you may not want on your player, because it will take everything on your computer that it can find.

Also, you need to convert your video files regardless in order to load them on the player. I thought some of mine that were on my computer would transfer with no problem because they were already in the accepted format, however, this was not the case. They transfered, but could not be used (which was where I ran in to some of the aforementioned problems -- I went into Windows Explorer to try and delete some of the folders and files, and it screwed everything up). So you need to download the conversion program to convert your videos.

It's a great player, and I love it. But just like anything, you have to get the hang of it.

Customer Review: Whoever buys an Ipod over this is just a conformist. This Fuze is much more worth the money
Summary: 5 Stars

First of all, Sansa is a great brand. Ipod nano compared to this? Please. Ipod nano = $120-$130. Sansa = ~$60.

EXPANDABLE MEMORY = I bought the 4GB Sansa, but expanded it with the mircoSD card to about 6GB. Something the nano can't do. Really cool feature.

Sound quality = is great, interface is easy to use, especially with the click wheel. Plays video (something nano can't do until its 4th gen), and has FM radio. Navigating is easy.

I dropped it on the concrete accidentally once, and didn't even scratch. This is a great mp3 player, really.

Size = literally the size of a credit card. very portable

Microphone isn't really good, but I don't know why you use an mp3 player for the mic. It records too much surrounding noise. Maybe you can record lectures or something, but is pretty useless. Wouldn't recommend using the mic.

Video = screen is larger than the nano at least, but the screen is still pretty small. good video quality, however!

Battery life = I basically listen to it day in day out for class. From 8am to about 6pm...and another hour at the gym. I can go doing this without charging for about 2-3 days. And it really doesn't that long to charge, either.

Transferring music/video files = wow can I say fast? It's basically click and drag, a 8mb file took about 5 seconds to transfer! Easy to use.

I haven't gotten around to trying that Napster feature though.

If you're used to a nano, you would know that you only need to press the menu button to go back to your music list. but for the sansa, you would have to click options and then back to music list. One extra step. not really a hassle, but i had a 1st gen nano and that one-step feature was pretty convenient; it takes one more step but not really a big deal. so if you're lazy, get used to it, because this fuze is more than worth it.

Customer Review: An Excellent MP3 Player
Summary: 5 Stars

The Sandisk Sansa Fuze is a quality MP3 player. I've had the 4GB model for about a month. I've got about 1500 songs on it, with about half a gig of space left. I only use it for music -- I don't have any need or desire to see pictures or movies on a less than 2 inch screen. Paired with a pair of Audioengine 5 speakers Audioengine 5 - PC multimedia speakers for iPod - 45 Watt (total) - 2-way - black, it now serves as my primary stereo system. The sound is as good as or better than any component stereo system I've had. It plays for hours -- I think the claim of 24 hour battery life is probably reasonable, although I haven't let it run the battery all the way down before recharging. You can get a wall charger for it for next to nothing -- I got this one:SANDISK SANSA Premium Black Travel Wall A/C Charger for SanDisk Sansa c100 / c200 / e200 Series (although the Fuze is not listed, it does use the same input connection). This charger works great, and it's never taken more than a few minutes to charge the Fuze, much faster than using the computer to charge via USB connection.

The display is plenty large and legible. The controls have a good, solid feel, and navigation is really fairly intuitive once you get used to using the thumb wheel.

Although you can drag and drop music to the Fuze using Windows Explorer, I recommend creating playlists on Windows Media Player 11 and syncing them to the Fuze. The output leveling capability of WMP11 greatly reduces the problem of different volume levels among music files so you can shuffle your music without having to constantly adjust the volume.

I definitely recommend the Sansa Fuze. It's a bargain for its quality.
