Contrary to what some people here have said, this works perfectly well as a flash drive alternative with an SD card. I'm not sure why people are saying that because the card sticks out of the reader sideways, "It will not work!!" and other such nonsense. It works perfectly fine, and I use it that way all the time.
Also, while the rubber covers seem flimsy, I found them to hold up well to two years of being in my pocket and banged around in a heavy bag, at the bottom, every single day.

The hassle and time it takes collecting wires for myriad devices are obviated by this little gem. Of course, any model of cardreader prob. does the same, but I love the simplicity of taking any size memory chip out and zooming the whole contents into my computer. I doesn't affect camera batteries this way, either. Brilliant idea. Also easily portable, so one can take it along on trips and give friends the pleasure of photos you've taken together, instead of having to email in small bursts;-)Customer Review: A very handy adapter

I must say, I can't live without this adapter. Since both of my phones take MicroSD/Transflash cards now, I am constantly needing to transfer files between my laptop, my phones, and my PC. This does the trick with flying colors. It is about 5 times faster than transferring the files from my phone using a USB data cable. It doesn't need any drivers installed and is plug and play on both my Windows XP and Windows 2000 computers with absolutely no problems. Very useful little gadget for digital camera memory cards and cell phone memory cards. Helps me to avoid finding and purchasing the required cord to connect my trail camera to my laptop. Also helps me to avoid using the cumbersome Blackberry program to transfer files from my phone to the laptop and vice versa. Just plug the card in the Mobile Reader, plug the Mobile Reader into the laptop, then drag and drop or cut, copy and paste. This item makes it really easy to transfer picture files and phone files to any computer with a USB port. I have a MAC and needed a way to transfer the files better from my phone to my laptop. All I do is put the memory card from my phone into the converter and plug it in to my laptop and I can easily access the files. It works like a thumb drive. Very convenient. Shipment from this seller was very fast.
