Customer Review: Excellent card for the Nikon D700

I was concerned about my new 12mp Nikon D700 because of my experience with the D100. Back then the biggest card you could get for a reasonable price was a 1gig microdrive. When I saw this card, I debated between getting it or 2 8gig ones, but it turns out that the 16Gig one is cheaper.
As for performance, I have been very very pleased. The write-time is excellent for the RAW (NEF)files as well as TIFFs, as for how long, all I can say is that by the time I take the camera away from my face to see if the card-access light is off, it usually is, so it is probably measured in seconds if not fractions of a second.
I also experimented with having the camera take Raw pictures with jpg backups at the same time (a very cool feature on the D700) and again found the write-speed to be excellent.
As for the capacity on the card, at RAW setting, I get just above 800 shots for the card! In Tiff settings this bumps down to 500 or so (about the same as the RAW + Jpg dual setting). If you just take the large quality Jpgs, the number of shots jumps to 2.2k... kinda of overkill, but really when you think of going out on a vacation and trying to travel light, this pretty much guarantees that you won't have to worry about downloading the pictures until you get home.
All in all, it is an excellent product. I would recommend this over other brands as my experience with Sandisk has been excellent over the years and have never had any sort of memory loss.
