This was very easy to set up and it handles a large range of memory cards so that I don't have to worry about getting a new reader everytime I buy something new. It comes with a cradle with a built in USB cable to connect to your machine. You can remove the reader from the cradle and it also comes with a very short USB cable you can use to connect the reader to a laptop. This is a nice option if you want to travel with this reader. However, if you want to lay the reader on its side and connect it to a desktop you are going to need a separate USB cable. The USB cable for the cradle is built into the crade and the other USB cable is very short. All in all, I am very pleased.Customer Review: Works Great and Easy to use

Great tool for digital cameras. Using this card reader instead of your camera will save a lot of battery life. Very easy to use and works right out of the box with Win XP. I use it with both the desktop and laptop and did have need any disks to load drivers. I've used SD, CF and Smart Media cards with no problems.
I only have a 1.1 USB port and though this card reader still works, it is a little weird at start-up (computer start-up that is). It says it may not work properly, but I haven't had any issues. I've also ordered a new high speed 2.0 USB pci card, I figured its time to upgrade anyway, especially with all the USB compatibale devices out there.

Transfers files from many of my flash cards to my computer's hard drive seamlessly. With today's technology and the multiple flash memories, this reader covers it all! No drivers are needed to use this. It is definitely Plug-n-Play, meaning your Windows XP operating system recognizes this as a removable drive.
I think the reviewer below (GSP_Fan) is confused with this device before purchasing it. This is not an intuitive device and should not be compared to a digital camera or digital camera's software. It's main purpose is to use the operating system's drivers to work in conjunction with the reader to download or copy files to and from a hard drive.

I was unable to transfer photos from my SDHC cards so, since I had a previous SanDisk ImageMate, I checkd to see if they offered a new one that would read the new SDHC format. Fortunately they did so I ordered it and have been very happy with it. I always keep it connected to my USB port for ready use but I like the docking station because I can keep the reader out of the way until I want to use it. I always use SanDisk compact Flash and SD cards so knew their reader quality would continue to be as good as their earlier model and their cards. Price was right and the product works as well as advertised and expected from their company.Customer Review: Blazing Fast!

Needing a card reader for 3 types of cards, I decided on the Sandisk ImageMate 12 in 1 card reader. Might as well spend the money, and have one that reads everything. Hooked up the usb, and my pc, with Windows Me, recognized it right away. Download speed from card to pc, was blazing fast. I had always used a usb cable with my camera to pc, but after using the 12 in 1 card reader,it is so much easier and faster to use. Cradle that reader sits in, is nice also. It keeps the reader out of the way, and takes up only inches of my pc desk. I'm sold on card readers from now on. I'd give this reader a 10 out of 10 stars.
