Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Titanium 4 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ7-4096-A10Customer Review: Its what I wanted and expected! Summary: 5 Stars
I've had this for around a month.
Pros:
-its Sandisk, so you know its coming from a reliable manufacturer
-the size is perfect for transfering files, specially avi movies and large quantity of mp3
-the speed, its seems to be about 30% faster than my cruzer mini (but what would you expect, copying things to 4gb instead of 1gb its goint to take some time!)
I like the color scheme, its not golden as the pictures tell it, I mean if you strech your arm out, it seems to be golden, but when you have it in front of you, its like dark gray with metallic
-The retractable usb arm seems to have a nice tight fit
Cons:
-OK, the little key ring that came attached, it doesn't seem strong enough
-The speed, I did some tests copying 970mb of data to both: the sand cruzer micro and this titanium, and to be honest, I didn't saw too much of a difference, but it could be me, who knows.
Other thoughts:
-Its suppose to stand a lot punishement, now, I've accidentally dropped it a couple of times, and its ok, but I'm not goint to roll my car over it
-I like how much it weights
-To give you an idea on the tranfer speeds, it took me about 13 and a half minutes to copy from my PC to the titanium 3.7gb of data and vice versa it took around 4 and a half minutes
-And about deleting files, its like the other sandisk flash drive, its fast
Customer Review: SanDisk 4 GB Cruzer Titanium USB Flash Drive with U3 Summary: 5 Stars
I received this item quickly from BlueProton, and so far I like it a lot. It works just like you would expect a flash drive to work, but since it also has the U3 software, all of your programs, documents, pictures, videos, and music can be accessed with ease. 4 GB is plenty of space, and I expected to pay a lot more than $25 for a flash drive with this much capacity. I needed the extra memory because I transfer large documents and pictures daily, and I didn't always want to run back and forth between the computers so I could get all the data on. The flash drive itself is somewhat heavy which is important to me so I don't accidently leave it in my pocket. The liquidmetal color is much better looking than the normal black plastic with the regular SanDisk Cruzers. The only problem I have with this item, is that it doesn't include a neck strap. This isn't a huge issue if you leave it plugged into your computer most of the time, but since I transfer documents and pictures between 3 computers on a regular basis, I really wish one was included. Because it doesn't come with a neck strap, I took the one off of my 1 GB Memorex flash drive and put it on the Cruzer; it is working very well so far.
I would recommend this flash drive to anybody looking for one with a large storage capacity on a budget!
Customer Review: Excellent product you must own! Summary: 5 Stars
I own a number of USB flash drives now. As a result, I would say I am a fairly experienced reviewer. As far as USB Flash driver in the $30 price range go, I would rank the SanDisk Curzer Titanium as a sturdy and well make product. Speed is pretty darn good too.
Short and small transfers run as fast as 30 Mb/sec. Though, large file sustained transfers are a bit slower averaging about 8Mb/Sec. In comparison, the Crucial Gizmo Plus can transfer a CD ISO at an average rate of about 12Mb/Sec. It is not all about speed though. The Cruzer is a solid, sleek, and very convenient product while most USB flash drives are flimsy plastic and delicate. Of the three 4mb flash drives I currently use, the Sandisk Cruzer is the one that I take everywhere and use the most.
The only negative I can find with the Sandisk product is the U3 software system installed by default. If you are not familiar with it, the U3 software system is a auto-loading package that can run applications off your drive. I run Linux, so this did not bother me. Plus, once I downloaded the U3 removal software from SanDisk's website, I reclaimed my 6Mb without any issue.
In summary, the SandDisk Cruzer Titanium is a best of breed mix of style, form, performance, and function. Buy one now!
Customer Review: Great USB drive Summary: 5 Stars
Bought this for $25; a pretty agreeable price to have 4GB worth of data carried around with you in your pocket. I am quite pleased with the product thus far. The thumb-slide that slides the USB jack in and out was a little frustrating at first--you have to be fairly measured in how you press it, otherwise it just won't budge--but I'm getting used to how to move it right, so it's not much of a problem.
The only other complaint I can really think of is how difficult it was to remove from the packaging (but then, what computer product doesn't seem to have that problem these days?).
I do have a concern about the metal casing, as other reviewers have mentioned; I have heard of what can happen to USB drives like these in regard to static electricity discharge. (In an attempt to counteract this I have actually made a wrapping out of electrical tape that goes around most of the surface for the drive. I suppose that's a bit extreme, but I keep some fairly important data on this and I don't want to risk losing it--though yes, I do keep backups. Perhaps some reviewer more versed in the intricacies of static discharge can give me some idea of whether this wrapping was a good/bad/futile idea.)
Overall, good product.
Customer Review: GREAT PRODUCT OVERALL NO REGRETS Summary: 5 Stars
After many days of researching the product, I finally bought one for myself. I have Amazon Prime so I received the product very quickly.
I needed a USB that wouldn't break that was portable with a large amount of storage. I found this Titanium USB that was heard to still work well even if ran over by a car.
I've been using this USB for weeks now and I love it. I use the U3 application ThunderBird on there and I can read and take my emails whereever I go. Plus the Mozilla U3 allows me to carry my internet security with me as well as my bookmarks and passwords without feeling unsafe.
Once I'm done using a random computer, I just disconnect it and all my history of logging on the computer is not saved nor can be found, its because it was all ran from the USB.
This Titanium was worth the money because there were complaints about the hook of this USB being not so great, but I attached this with my car keys and house keys and I go places ALOOOOT and this Titanium is NOTTT a bother at all. It actually looks stylish with your keychains.
I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants to get the best out of their USB experience while also carrying their everyday files.
