Lost my 4Gb cruzer so when i replaced it i was glad to see that the 8Gb was the same price i originally paid for my 4Gb one a couple of years ago!!!
i'm not big fan of the U3 software it comes with. to me it just adds more steps to get to my stored data. i just use normal windows explorer. i didn't know how the switchover to window 7 might effect accessing my data, but if anything it's just faster. I Love this product. I also like the keychain, cuz i'm forever losing these things (this is my 6th flash drive - started with a 256kb one lol).
i would heed the other reviews that encourage you to take your keys off before connecting it into your usb ports.
however i've had this one now for over 6mts (a new record!! lol)and had ZERO problems with it.

This SanDisk Cruzer 8GB works great. I noticed there were some reviews about it being difficult to open and close. I did not find it at all difficult and the little door that closes over the end really protects the usb connector when it's not in use.
It is a very convenient size and the neat little slip-in cover with fastener makes it simple to clip onto those mysterious loops that appear inside messenger bags, backpacks, etc.
SanDisk made the usb connector open out far enough that it doesn't take up much space side-to-side in the usb port lineup on my notebook. I've had a few cheap sticks that are too wide to fit.
I got this to use with a video transfer device because I needed the speed and the storage space and this comes thru with flying colors.

First the reason that I bought this drive is because my Verbatum 4 gb U3 drive broke. The drive itself did not break but the part that lets me hook it onto my key chain is what broke. The device still works just fine. So I have to say that I really enjoy this device. I have had it less then a month but so far I find that it works just as well as my last U3 drive and the extra space is great. At this point I would recommend the drive to anybody looking for a large U3 drive. I also would like to note that it is tough to tell from the picture but there is a small metal piece that the key chain loop go around unlike my old drive that was all metal. I am hoping that it will help and I do like that this one does not have a cover and is retractable instead.Customer Review: Lots of room and reliable

Lots of room on this jump drive for everything. Currently, it's being used as a small critical folder back up system using the U3 software available for free download. It also comes with trial virus protection and various other applications (such as Open Office) so documents and the applications to open and edit them come with you. I specifically bought SanDisk brand because of their durability - I had accidentally dropped my other drive in an uncovered parking lot and didn't realize it until the next morning. I found it in a slushy puddle of ice/salt/dirt (it was January and right around zero degrees), let it dry off and it worked as if nothing had happened. If a company can make a flash drive that withstands that abuse, they've got my business!!Customer Review: Works great, just format it first !!!

This product works great. Unfortunately, a lot of you, mostly novices, just put it in thinking it would be blank - you were wrong. Whenever you add a new hard drive, flash drive, etc. the FIRST thing to do is to format it to your OS. You were the ones that took it for granted that something brand new ought to be blank.
For those of you that still have it (in a drawer collecting dust), shutdown your computer. Insert the flash drive. Boot into safe mode (if you don't know how, Google it). Then do a FULL format, not a quick one. Viola, all done, reboot into normal mode.
Don't forget to click on the safe removal icon before you unplug it, or you could just cross your fingers then complain if/when you lose files !!!
