Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ6-8192-A11Customer Review: Portable Memory that works as advertised. Summary: 5 Stars
It's very nice when a product you order works just as well as you wanted it to. I've had the SanDisk Cruzer Micro 8gb drive for over 6 months and I have not had a single problem with it. Memory is memory and as long as it does its job, that's just fine in my book. In terms of portability, it's very portable. The only other important part to it is just how well it's constructed and the assurance that the flash memory is not going to get corrupted, but that would be the end user's responsibility. Returning to construction, there is no cap or anything that can be lost and I've (accidentally) dropped the drive on numerous occasions. It's still working just fine and I have absolutely no complaints about it. If you want an 8 gb flash drive, buy this product. It will not fail you. Also, I suggest uninstalling the U3 shovelware that comes with. It just makes the drive take longer before you can use it. But also allows you to play games or use applications straight from the U3 application. Useless to me but it does have its purposes.
Customer Review: Don't avoid USB software Summary: 5 Stars
Over the last several years I have used five Sandisk Cruzer flash drives from 1g to 8g. Never a problem of any kind. At first I dumped the software that comes with them but now I use lots of it.
There is a big and growing supply of portable software. It is so cheap and handy that it provides (almost) a computer on a flash drive.
On trips, I take my laptop, but I also take a Cruzer loaded with Firefox, word processing and office software, a lightweight photo editor, Foxit (a compact pdf reader), and several others. Then, when I need to use a printer and have to use the hotel or a relative's computer to do my printing, I can use the USB software and leave nothing on the borrowed computer.
USB software and "portable software" that runs from an SDHC card is just too good for its purposes to ignore. And, Sandisk's Cruzer series has served me well with, and without, the software.
Customer Review: A Valuable Little Tool Summary: 5 Stars
The SanDisk Cruzer Micro flash drive is a 8 GB USB flash drive that will fit right in your pocket or wallet. It plugs into your USB port on your computer and you can transfer files between two computers. I have been able to transfer videos from one computer to another which enabled me to take the video home to work on. I like the fact that this little flash drive does not have a seperate cover. It just slides out and you plug it in, it lights up and there you go!
The first flash drive I bought a few years back worked good but was around $60. The SanDisk's price is more affordable and inexpensive for what it does. It is reliable and easy to use. You just copy the file onto the little drive and take it with you. It is little so I store it in a jar so that I don't lose it or break it. I have had mine for well over a year and use it all the time and highly recommend it.
Customer Review: A great drive Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this flashdrive as a way to carry my writing between computers as my own computer crashed and I am forced to use the library and friends systems. It has worked wonderfully and is so durable I couldn't believe it.
My sister tried to be nice and wash the bag that I carry back and forth while I was sleeping. She removed everything except the Cruzer (which was in a hidden pocket) and sent the bag, drive and all, through the washer and dryer. We were certain that it would be ruined, but imagine our surprise when I booted the drive up and it was in perfect condition! None of the information that I had copied (i.e. 300 pictures, 138 songs, 1 partially finished novel and various short stories) was missing.
I will definitly order another drive from this company when I need it.
Customer Review: AWESOME! Summary: 5 Stars
This is my first U3 jump drive, and I am in LOVE with it!
Being a student who travels back and forth to college (PK-3 Education major) and works on multiple computers, it is incredibly convenient to have a way to browse the internet with my favorite browser (Firefox) and with all my personal add-on's, bookmarks, and passwords AND have my favorite word processing suite (Open Office) to work with.
There is no other way that I know of to do this than with the U3 software.
Plus, you CANNOT beat this price for an 8GB jump drive. I shopped around, and this was IT.
It was a breeze to install, use, and the file transfer speed is great!
I am incredible happy with this product and if I ever need to buy again, it will be from here.
If you are reading this, buy it now!!
