really it is helpful for the IT's who need to install programs every minute, searching for viruses in different computer and run removal program. also,it is nice when installing some programs in the flash to use them in different computer for fun. I am using this little puppy to back up a novel I am writing -- so far about 70,000 words. I also use online backup, but with this much work, a person wants to be safe. The Scandisk 4GB thumb drive I ordered arrived promptly and was in perfect working condition. I have used it numerous times to transfer files, music, videos, etc. with no problems. This drive performed well. You can't use the drive without entering a password once you assign one. This good for security. The read/write functions fast. I didn't try all of the programs that came on the drive, but the sychronization program worked well.
