Customer Review: Seems flimsy but works okay.

Pros--4gb gives lots of room, the u3 lets me run my bookcollector/libray software on multiple computers so I can track my many books at work and home, including those I lend to other folk. No cap to lose is great.
Cons--nothing serious so far. The thing's a bit flimsy feeling, but has not broken, seems to be mostly plastic, but oddly, that makes me treat it gently so I probably will not break it. No lanyard comes with it, but there's a ring to slip one through if you feel the need.
Overall, it's good enough that I'm considering getting the 8gb size soon.

I've been seeing a lot of complaints in the customer reviews about the U3 software that comes embedded on the drive and I got to admit I didn't like it either. But don't let that stop you from buying this great product. The U3 software can be easily removed! For a 4GB flash drive its priced pretty cheaply, it has a retractable port so you dont have to worry about losing the cap, and it comes with a nice little necklace thing to keep it around your neck so you dont lose it. Did i mention the cool orange light that glows whenever you plug it in? So what are you waiting for? Dont miss out!Customer Review: One of the best USB Memories!

I usually used, 1Gb USB memories, and then passed to a SD card adapter with a "2 GB SD card", but it wasn't exactly what I need it (size). I have to backup several databases and have programs available always at hand. The 4Gb Cruzer gave me the edge and capacity I really needed. The Cruzer has a software that manages the connections with other computers that works great!. And also has security and the capability to install software on it, as another hard drive. This is one of the best features.
I am very happy with it and totally recommended, for the serious user.

Love it - it's compact, light and very affordable. I bought it a month ago to back up all my files so that I could reinstall my operating system when my computer had some weird virus. Now I keep all my picture files on it and my computer runs a lot faster. I also back up all my files (learned my lesson before it was too late!) I highly recommend this cute little flash drive.
7/30/08 Update: Still love it. And I LOVE that it's retractable - stays protected when not in use and no parts to lose! (Things tend to get lost in the abyss that is my computer room!)

I am not sure why people are so upset about the U3 function. It simplifies the process of using the flashdrive on multiple computers. I can take my Cruzer Micro to a new machine at any office, plug in, and have access to all my essential files and e-mails. Even if the machine has no word processor or Excel, I can use my openoffice equivalent to do work without any trouble.
For those who really don't like it, Sandisk makes removal very easy with the current version of their software on their web site.
