Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk Cruzer Micro 16 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive SDCZ6-016G-A11Customer Review: Small Product, Big Value! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought both the 16gb and 4gb version of these for use around the office and when traveling to move files between multiple computers and devices. It's amazes me that a device so small can hold so much data and I found the product to work flawlessly with both Windows and Mac Operating Systems without the need to format them - which is great considering SanDisk used to have issues with Mac OS X. The only problem I have with these drives, which is minor, is that on my 15" MacBook Pro, the drive itself is too wide which means I have to unplug other things in the ports surrounding the USB slot in order for this drive to fit. I'm not sure whether it's an issue with SanDisk or that Apple put the ports to close together but in any case, it's a small annoyance that I don't feel warrants overall points being taken away.
Customer Review: Good portable hardware+software package Summary: 5 Stars
I used to have the older 2GB version, and had a good experience with that, so I upgraded to the 16GB. It seems like SanDisk has struck the correct balance between a bare bones storage device and something that adds a little extra value through good software. The 16GB version has even better integration of management software and apps than the older 2GB version. I've also found that it's faster than many other USB drives.
Although the setup encourages you to install a lot of useless software, once you pare it down to just what you need, it's a very handy way to have true portability of apps+documents without having to lug a CPU around. In particular using Thunderbird on the Cruzer is a great way to have true mail portability (in the physical sense, not the software sense).
Customer Review: Portable Apps Summary: 5 Stars
While U3 offers many pre-configured applications for portable use, which you have to pay for, I personally create my own. It's nice to have my email, my browser, and all the applications that I use on a regular basis on a small USB stick with decent security in case of loss or theft. I originally bought this item at Walmart for 60 dollars. I was pretty pissed when I saw the same item on Amazon for roughly 30 bucks.....Uggghhh. This Sandisk has functioned really well, and using it with apps that I ported myself, it's like having a Roaming Profile in your pocket. The storage space is not bad either, however 16 GB isn't really that great if you plan on using it just for raw data storage. This item is certainly worth the money if you plan on using it the way I do.
Customer Review: Exactly what I needed Summary: 5 Stars
I just got mine in the mail today and it's already done everything I needed it to do. My vacation pictures were on one PC and I needed to move them to another. Some reviewers were disappointed with the speed of this drive, but that's no issue for me. Not like I needed to sit and watch its progress. I noticed that loading the pix onto the drive was slower than loading them from the drive to the other PC, so I guess I see what they're talking about, but it just doesn't bother me. It took about 20 minutes all told to get 600+ large photos moved. I'm not complaining. If I'd had more photos, there would have been plenty more room for them, and that's what I care about. I was looking for disc size, storage capabilities and this one does the trick.
Customer Review: My XBOX 360's best friend Summary: 5 Stars
So I have a PS3, wich I love BTW, but all my nerd friends have 360's. They would rant and rave about how wonderful the games were and would lend them to me, "If only you had a 360." So when the new 360 slim was announce I jumped and got an arcade for about $100.
The only thing I needed is space to download games and save demos & such. As I already have a PS3 for my day to day gaming and media centering, I thought buying a proprietary $100 hard drive simply didn't make sense, so I ordered one of these memory sticks.
After a 10 second format, I was up and running with 16 GB of space. It's been great for day to day gaming and has enough room for 2 standard games (3 if you're lucky) it's been a total breeze. Totally recommend.
