Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo

Customer Review: Perfect memory for PSP.
Summary: 5 Stars

Bought this memory stick to go with a PSP I had given my wife for Christmas. So far it is working perfectly. I did a lot of price comparison shopping for this particular type of mem and wound up purchasing it from an independent Amazon store. This is the exact same type of mem stick that Sony produces for most of it's products from game systems to cameras but for half the price that Sony charges. Certainly prices on flash memory are in constant fluctuation, although lately they have been falling. This by far was the best price I found on this particular product. I will have to wait and see how the integrity is but so far it works like a charm.

Customer Review: Good purchase for my Sony products
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm using this pro duo for my PSP 3000 and it is very nice to have the extra storage. I have 1gb reserved for game saves, and couple gb saved for PS one classics and full PSP games. Before I was using a 2gb pro duo and it just wasn't enough. I had a couple SD cards from SanDisk and they are all great quality with good transfer speeds. This is a great product and 8gb of space is pretty good for $25. I also have a Cybershot at home so this'll come in handy in the future. All in all a good purchase for me; I recommend it if you have a PSP and plan on downloading lots of content, or if you take lots of pictures with your Sony camera.

Customer Review: Works Perfectly
Summary: 5 Stars

Memory Stick is a Sony thing. When you buy a non-Sony memory stick product your fear is compatibility. Well, I just bought this 8G memory stick for use in my new Sony Webbie HD Camcorder. It works perfectly.

I choose an 8G card expecting the Webbie HD to chew up space like crazy, but, I have found that the MP4 compression and lower bit rate of the Webbie is friendly to memory stick capacity. In fact, for my purposes, I could have used a 2 or 4G stick and been happy.

I also like the eco-friendly packaging for this product. Mostly cardboard with only the smallest plastic covering. Nice!

Customer Review: Needed for those darned SONY products up until this year!
Summary: 5 Stars

On my way to New York City in 2009, I bought a new Sony Handicam, tiny, easy to use, only problem, 4gb of built in memory. So, looking at the memory slot, I find I needed the Memory Stick Pro Duo. That is the only card that fits. Now though I see SONY finally caught up with the rest of the world, and their new model now takes SDHC cards too. About time. But I bought 2 of these, I took 2500+ photos, and 8 hours of Video, and still had storage space on the card. Easy to use, good quality and Plenty of space for your every need.

Customer Review: 8GB for PSP
Summary: 5 Stars

People say that if it isn't a Sony accessory for a Sony product, it won't work. Mine just works fine. A lot cheaper, too. I use it mainly for my PSP Slim for storing all my media files. Music, Videos, Pictures and Podcasts. The only thing I noticed as I started getting bigger Memory Sticks is that it takes longer for the game system to access the memory card on the initial start up. Not much of a wait just about 30 seconds to less than a minute. Overall, a small price to pay for a bigger storage space.
