Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 8 GB Class 2 microSDHC Flash Memory Card with SD AdapterCustomer Review: You don't want a reader smaller than this... Summary: 5 Stars
Believe it or not, unless you need to surreptitiously carry a USB reader with you at all times, this one is as small as you'd want to have.
I own one microsdhc USB reader that's even smaller than this one. I don't think that one can accept microsdhc (to be honest, i haven't even checked - i'll check and edit this review if it turns out i can). That one is about the length of my finger nail and about the thickness of 4 microsdhc cards. It's probably about the size of this one if you lop off the bulbous end.
But I still use this one more. The other one is, if you can believe it, too small. I constantly lose and misplace it. Also, this one seems a wee bit faster (maybe because of the microsdhc?)
If you need one to store in your wallet (or your molar), search for the other one - Amazon doesn't sell it - it's a no name Taiwanese product. Otherwise, this one is small, effective, AND convenient.
There was an episode of Futurama where they showed that cellphones had gotten so small, you needed to chain them to larger items just to be able to find them. This reader is on the borderline sizewise.
Customer Review: An 8Gb Thumbdrive / MicroSD card for So Little Money Summary: 5 Stars
Works perfectly in my Nokia N95-3. Hey, I've now got a N95 8Gb phone!
This card is an absolute no brainer to buy. If your phone will not accept a MicroSDHC card (you're stuck with a 2Gb limit and you can't return this HC card), you actually just bought an 8Gb USB Thumdrive that is very near the smallest thumbdrive I've ever seen (the Sony MicroVaults in radioactive colors are slightly smaller), for less than the price of most 2Gb thumbdrives.
This thing is a total win - win. The other bright side, when you remove your 512Mb or 1Gb microSD card from your phone, plug that old card into the USB holder and you've now got a USB thumbdrive in 512 or 1Gb.
The reader does make it super fast and simple to transfer content from your old card to your new one. It's absolutely brilliant.
Yes the one single bad thing about this card - the packaging. Yes it is way over packaged. Sandisk really needs to move to the packaging they use for Costco, and drop this darn clamshell nonsense.
Customer Review: Greatest card reader ever!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this in place of a normal thumb drive. I once had a thumb drive that broke after a couple days of use and I lost all the data. Since then I have been using card readers, that way if I break the drive I still have the card. Also, in a couple of years when the SDHC cards get better SDHC card readers are upgradeable to 2 terabytes cards. It is a good system.
The round part of the card reader is almost the size of a dime and about 4 dimes thick and only 1.25 inches long. It is smaller then most of my keys. It fits even the tightest USB ports. It is so small, I don't even notice it on my key chain.
The only down side I could think of is that the USB port doesn't have a dust cover. Currently, I have not gotten any dirt in their but it could happen. Even if they did include one I wouldn't use it anyway.
Customer Review: Works Great In My Verizon Blackberry Curve 8330 Summary: 5 Stars
I was hesitant to purchase this card because I was worried it would not work with my cell phone. Previously I had read where certain 8GB cards would not work with the Blackberry Curve 8330. With this product it is not the case. The ScanDisk 8GB card work wonderfully!
The ScanDisk 8gb card also has a Mobile Reader but I have not found a use for it as of yet. This is mostly due to the poor location of the memory card slot on the Blackberry 8330 which is located underneath the battery. It is far to inconvenient to take the card out to make the MobileMate Reader feasible. If this was not a factor, I rather have the USB dongle than a adapter that many other memory cards come with.
Over all a great product and I would recommend the ScanDisk 8GB card to any one who needs lots of storage on the go.
Customer Review: Great Card, Great service Summary: 5 Stars
This 8Gig card is indeed tiny! Due to the thinness of the card I was a little concerned about putting to much force on the card to get it installed in my phone. Which, by the way, is a Motorola Q9h (ATT service). After a bit of tentativeness, the card installed just fine. The little USB card reader that comes packaged with the microSD card is, well ..., cute. It to is small and seems to do the job it was intended to do.
The service from Digital Media Source was wonderful. I ordered the card late Sunday night and immediately received an email indicating the order was accepted. The following morning (Monday) I received an email that the order had shipped. I received the card via US postal service on Thursday. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and would order from this vendor again!
