Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 2 GB SDSDX3-2048-901 Extreme III SD Memory Card (Retail Package)

Customer Review: Digital Camera Memory
Summary: 5 Stars

I normally use SanDisk Ultra II cards. Tried these cards and they are noticeably faster. The only down side is the SanDisk card reader I have will not read cards over 1 gigabyte so I cannot take advantage of the higher read speed.

This card's speed increase is not as big a change as going from a standard card to the Ultra II card. I'm not sure the extra cost is worth it. If I could take advantage of the potential down load speed it might be worth while to spend the extra money for this card.

Customer Review: Noticeably faster performance
Summary: 5 Stars

Used this in a pocket camera. I don't know the technical difference between this and the cheap cards. The practical difference is that even with a pocket camera (Canon IS870) write time is significantly faster.
With the bargain card, time between shots is significantly longer than with this card.

I was skeptical, and bought one of these and one of the cheapies. The better quality does seem to be worth the additional $$. Also came with a nice little pouch-- easier to keep track of it.

Customer Review: Simple & great.
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought 2 of these for my husband's and daughter's new Nikon CoolPix S212 cameras. They were easy to install and show great pics. 2 GB is plenty of memory for a standard session. If not, buy two, and keep the extra one in the carry-case that is included free in the SanDisk Extreme III package. Some memory cards are cheaper, but I like the recovery feature of these - just in case. You cannot replace photographs without it. Kodak is right: Photos are indeed a stopped, irreplaceable, moment in time.

Customer Review: Great, reliable card!
Summary: 5 Stars

I shoot RAW with a Panasonic 8 MP DMC-FZ30 camera. This card works great! I haven't used anything else, so I can't compare it's performance. I have 3 Extreme III cards. In the process of purchasing these 3 "good" cards I also inadvertently purchased 3 fake cards. If you know what your looking for, it's easy to spot a fake. The printing is different, the card-board is thinner, it's missing any sealing, the inner packaging is not sealed... Here is a great web site on spotting fakes. [...]

Customer Review: The Best SD card!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a 10 megapixel camera, so it can take a while to store all that information and I have had no problems, even when shooting in cont. mode. I bought an 8 gig card from another manuf., claiming to be the new SD-HD card (which is slightly thicker). My camera says its an 8 GB, but whoa, is it slow in comparison to my SanDisk. Hey, I knew if it's too good to be true (price wise), then it is too good to be true - but I bought it anyways - shoulda just bought me another Extreme III.
