Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of SanDisk 2 GB Cruzer Titanium ( SDCZ7-2048-A10, Retail Package)Customer Review: Good for those of us... Summary: 5 Stars
... who are always dropping stuff.
I've had this flash drive for two months, and so far, it's been the best one I've come across. The titanium housing (with that nifty little cover to protect the one weak spot) has worked excellently. I dropped it, I stepped on it, my dog even grabbed it and ran off with it- and none of that has affected it one bit.
I'm not a big fan of the preinstalled u3 software, so I use a mixture of portable apps [...] and Thinstall programs.
The speed on this thing is great- it can open a 400MB file without any problems whatsoever. When booting an operating system from it, it does run a little slow, but that's to be expected.
While 2GB isn't the biggest drive, this one certainly is the best.
I would recommend this drive to anyone. Even the price was great!
Customer Review: A very solid thumb drive Summary: 5 Stars
Although there's not much to say about any particular USB thumb drive, I can say that this one is my favorite so far. The titanium shell gives it a very durable feel. Some may complain about the slight heft to it, but I keep mine on my key chain so I want it to be able to take a beating. The fact that the need for a cap has been eliminated is a huge plus. I didn't care for the U3 feature so I removed it... no problems there.
Slightly off topic but relative to the manufacturer... I dropped my previous SanDisk drive into a river last year. It stayed submerged for at least 20 minutes before one of my buddies found it. It still worked when I got home that afternoon!
Bottom line, I love my 2GB Titanium SanDisk. Enough so that I bought a second one for my college-bound cousin.
Customer Review: A good one for the keyring Summary: 5 Stars
For a while now, I've wanted to upgrade my Lexar 1GB JumpDrive that I carry on my key ring. After looking around, there are not that many options for that purpose. Most of the drives have lose-able caps and that's something that I didn't want.
I've only had this drive for a week or so and it's exceeded my expectations. It's very sturdy (see the review re run over by a car) and it's really quite fast. I'd bought another 2GB stick from another merchant and this one is noticeably faster...and faster than my Lexar, too. When they offer the 4GB in the titanium, I'll buy that one to replace this one.
Pros:
Sturdy
Fast
Nice aesthetics
Cons:
Price vs. other 2GB sticks out there (but in this case, you get what you pay for).
Customer Review: Third SanDisk flash drive I've owned Summary: 5 Stars
This is the third SanDisk flash drive I've owned, and they've all had excellent performance and reliabilty. The 2 GB Cruzer that I bought recently is no exception. It installed automatically in three different computers without a hitch.
I'm not using the U3 software, but I may give it a try. Right now I'm using it as a simple drag-and-drop device, and it works flawlessly.
My only concern - and it's very minor - is that there is no cap, so you have to be careful to keep lint and dust out of the opening. I usually carry mine in my pocket, so I occasionally have to blow a little lint out of it, but that's not a big deal. It has a nice soft lanyard if you want to carry it around your neck.
A very good flash drive for the money.
Customer Review: Quality storage, durable, attractive Summary: 5 Stars
Finally a high capacity storage device at a reasonable price that can withstand some abuse and looks nice as well. I have been eying this one for a while. Those who complain about the clip scratching the unit never bothered to try to slide it on - it does so easily. The capless cover is a delight as with the lesser 1 gig plastic model I also have. Read/write time is extremely fast.
The only bad thing I can say about it is the clip on the lanyard. Although metal instead of plastic, it is tiny and takes two hands to open it. It is not quick-release by any means. No big deal though. The included software package can be toggled on/off and is highly customizable. Nice - all in all. I'll buy the 4 gig most likely when it comes out.
