Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of 1 GB SanDisk MicroSD TransFlash Memory Card (Bulk)Customer Review: Good & Cheap, Despite the Shipping Cost Summary: 5 Stars
Got this little number to put in my cellphone (LG VX8300) and it works perfectly. Format the micro card in the phone, insert it into the SD adapter, slide the adapter into a reader, drag 'n drop pix & tunes into the appropriate folders, re-insert micro card in phone, and voila!
You will want to be very careful using this micro card no matter where you buy it; it is tiny and not too rugged. Just exercise due caution and insert & eject it over a table or other surface. Once you have it inside whatever device it's going in, you're fine; on its own it is somewhat vulnerable.
The "bulk" card works perfectly, probably having the exact same defective rate as retail packaging, only you pay about 40% less. At $9.59 from Blue Proton, this thing is a steal; a little less so after they tack on $7.20 in shipping (!!). However the total cost is still worth it, and BP's shipping (USPS First) was fast- it arrived on the fourth business day after the order.
Highly recommend this product. However, be aware that the VX8300 can take up to a 2 GB card, so if you have lots of music, you may want to consider the larger capacity card instead.
Customer Review: I love how cheap memory has become Summary: 5 Stars
I remember paying $100 for 512 megs. Heck, even before that I once paid several hundred dollars for a 170meg DRIVE. I love that memory chips are now a) cheap and b) TINY. This is so cheap, it's practically free. 1 GIG for 10 bucks!? How can you lose? I bought this mini card for my Motorola KRZR phone. Worked perfectly. You plug the card into your phone (under battery) and it instantly recognizes and creates directories in it (photos, music, sounds). SO, if you want to upload your own music to your phone, take the card out, use the included adapter, and plug it into your laptop. If your laptop doesn't have a memory card slot, Sandisk also makes a (cheap!) USB adaptor that accepts both SD and MINI SD cards. Copy music onto the card in the "music" directory, plug card back into phone, and viola: no need to bother with the Verizon on-line Music garbage. Easy. Works great. In another week, you'll be able to buy 100 gigs for 10 bucks!
Customer Review: Performs exactly as it should! Summary: 5 Stars
I wanted a MicroSD for my Nokia 6126 to be able to transfer songs, pictures, etc. between the phone and my computer. So last week I purchased a 2gb Patriot MicroSD card only to find out that it didn't work in my computer's SD card reader (or two other readers for that matter). I promptly returned the card and did some research.
I gave this Sandisk MicroSD a try from Amazon (Digital Media Source) and I can say that the card reads very well both in my PC's card reader as well as the cell phone. No problems so far, and I don't anticipate any!
On another note, while shipping cost me as much as the card itself, I was able to get 2 of these little guys for a little under $25 (which is still a pretty good deal)! The products arrived in exactly 3 days after the order in a little, cushioned, plastic envelope with nothing more but the plastic case enclosing the MicroSD and the adapter (no papers, manuals, etc.).
Customer Review: This is So Great Summary: 5 Stars
Freakishly simple, effective and well designed. I got it for my LG AX8600 cellphone (Alltel's version of the LG VX8600), and after a bit of worry (the SanDisk MicroSD is not built like a tank) I finally took the plunge and stuck it in my phone. A neat click -- on my phone you remove it by pressing on it again so that it will eject -- plus a simple format process and the little MicroSD card was ready for photos, video or music. To load or delete files place the MicroSD into a transflash adapter, then put the transflash into a SanDisk SDDR-103 MobileMate SD+ 5-in-1 Mobile Reader (SD/ MiniSD/ MMC/ RS-MMC/ TransFlash, Retail Package), which you plug into your computer's USB slot. From there you drag and drop whichever files you choose (though my phone does not seem to see mp4s.) Overall a great package.
Customer Review: Works fine in Samsung SGH-A707 phone Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this sandisk 1GB microSD (bulk) from Digital Media Source through amazon. The shipping is smooth and fast. The card is working well with a card reader in a PC and in the Samsung SGH-A707 phone. I can take pictures, videos, and play MP3 music on it. I have used SD for many years, but it is the first time for to use the microSD. At first try, the memory card wasn't recognized in PC and phone. I used a bathtissue to erase the contact pins, then it works fine. The bulk package is about half price of its retail package. The only difference is that it doesn't come with a plastic package cover with a warrantee paper card. But it works great. The microsSD is tiny, it is weak mechanically. Besides cleaning the pins, the alginment is as important when you plug in the socket.
