Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Saitek X52 Flight Control SystemCustomer Review: Best choice for the money... Summary: 5 Stars
In my opinion this is the best flight control system under $100 and is well worth the money, unless of course you have unlimited funds and would like the very cream of the crop (in which case I would suggest the thrustmaster cougar system). Build quality is a bit lights, but for money this system will provide you with a much improved flight simulator experience. I use the X52 for my combat flight simulators and save my CH Products Flightsim Yoke for flight simulator X/2004 Although setup is trouble free, you will need a lot of time to customize the buttons per your flight sim. All in all, if you are thinking of upgrading to a good HOTAS (hands on throttle and stick) system there is no reason you shouldn't look in the X52
Customer Review: Consumer friendly but powerful and compatible Summary: 5 Stars
This controller is unquestionably the most reasonable purchase I've made for accessories. While the X52 Pro offers features over the regular X52, this controller is certainly one of the baseline standards of gaming experience which to this day is hard to beat. The only other brand that can deliver a comparable experience over the X52 is the over the top CH brand flight stick and yoke products. For OS and game compatibility, ease of use, quality, this controller bodes well.
Games that go well with this device include but are not limited to: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 or X, iENT Warbirds, Flight Gear (Open-Source), Falcon 4.0, Janes Combat Simulations (IAF, Mig-19), Aces High II, and IL2 Sturmovik.
Customer Review: Customize me Summary: 5 Stars
This isn't your typical plug-and-play device. For maximum enjoyment from this control, one must actually spend the time to program the stick to do what you want it to. All the time that is spent programming the controls for every flippin' game you own is worth it when you realize that you can actually use it on every game you own. The stick is fully programmable which means that you can have it take over actual keystrokes. (A fun upshot of this feature was to use it as my keyboard during a chat session.) Sure it's not quick and easy, but it's what a game controller should be for the PC.
Customer Review: great with X-Plane and Macintosh Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this setup in spite of no response from Saitek tech support (asking if it was compatible with Macintosh), and it works great with my iMac Intel Core2 Duo machine. It was purchased to allow me to fly X-Plane 9's helicopters; that's still a hard row to hoe, but it's not the fault of the Saitek equpment! Someone even wrote a little plugin that allows the screen on the throttle portion to display time, date, and radio settings from X-Plane. Highly recommended! And Saitek did eventually reply in the affirmative (that their products work with Macintosh).
Customer Review: Great controller Summary: 5 Stars
Thanks to this Saitek X52 flight controller I have been able to kill THOUSANDS of virtual enemies with fun unparalleled by any other flight stick. Whether I'm flying an Apache strafing a small village causing untold collateral damage to homes and livestock, or if I'm flying a Harrier Jump Jet recklessly over a battlefield and kamikaziing enemy armor emplacements, this controller translates every bit of my lack of flying skills with incredible precision. It really lets my teammates know that when I'm in the air you'd better look out. I highly recommend it.
