Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Saitek X52 Flight Control System

Customer Review: Huge , Cool and comfortable... and did I mention Huge.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of the coolest sticks I have ever purchased with limitless possibilities. The unfortunate thing is that it requires alot of desk space to use. The USB connection is on the throttle therefore it must be present. The Main stick then connects to the throttle via a DIN connector. The stick is pretty well built and has more buttons than you will ever need. The best feature is the programmable presets where you can save multiple configurations and access an entire new configuration on the fly simply by rotating a thumb wheel. Control is definite and there is no noticeable creep when the control is at rest. The Windows setup screen will scare you because the multitude of buttons on the control panel "game controller" configuration screen is enough to cause an neural blowout. Either way the issue will be what do you want where not what do you have to leave out of your configuration.

Customer Review: Very good Joystick
Summary: 5 Stars

The X52 replaced my old X45 Saitek and I find it much better in every way from the old stick, very much more sensitive to stick input. It is one of the most versatile sticks I have ever used and lives up to the praise that has been direct its way on this forum. If it had force feed feel to it that would have been awesome, but as is it is performs very well on the various flight sims.

The hardware is very nicely done and it has hardy feel to it, the spring action of the joystick is a little too light for my preference but I was use to the hard feel of the X45 so that may account for that.

I tried it on the MS FSX beta and it was excellent. I fly on IL2 Forgotten Battles everyday and it has improved my game. With the new Saitek rudder pedals it will be one of the very best setups going. I feel it is worth the money and an well satisfied with this purchase.

Customer Review: great flight sim experience
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been having my X52 for about three weeks, and I can say that it definitely boost up my flight sim experience. Amazon did a great job advertising (as well as providing info) ont the product, and they're excellent on delievery! If you are a big airplane buff and/or flight simmer like me, I'd recommend this product to you. It's a must-have item! I'm now running FSX and FS2004 on my machine, and the control works great on both. One thing I'm still trying to get used to is that the number of buttons on the control. There are lots of them, and quite honestly I haven't figured or made good use of them. However, you can definitely make your flight experience more enjoyable by making good use of this control. Overall, I give it a 10/10, although it might be a bit expensive, but it is worth the investment. Again, if you're a flight simmer, this is a must-have!

Customer Review: The X52 System Is Great
Summary: 5 Stars

The X52 is a great system. Not quite up to the Thrustmaster Cougar, But a good Second or Backup System. Pair it with a set of CH USB Rudder Pedals and you have everything you need to fly Military, Small or even Jumbo Commercial Aircraft.

One note, if you like a really stiff flight stick, this system might not be for you. Going from a Thrustmaster to a Saitek system takes a little getting used to, but within a day or two, the stiffness of the stick, or lack there of, is no longer a problem.

The programable profiles for this stick make it perfect for any flight simulation program. Many of which are available for download at the Saitek web site. I highly recomend this for any one looking for a new Flight Control System or Joystick.

Customer Review: Saitek X52 is better than the X45.
Summary: 5 Stars

I got the X52 to replace a broken X45, it was not defective it was broken by accident. When I bought this the X45 was hard to find. I really liked my X45 but with used prices (...)plus shipping and new units (...)plus shipping the X52 for only a few dollars more made sense. I like the X52 and think it is slightly better than the X45. I like the layout of buttons and the adjustable flight stick handle. The X45 flight stick handle was always a little too small even with the plastic pinky button removed. That said, I wouldn't upgrade to the X52 if you have a functional X45 because it isn't that much of an upgrade. The X52, for the price/features, is the best HOTAS you can find. The lcd screen is, however, really just a gimmick.
