I bought this keyboard, to game with at night without having to turn on the lights. I use it for battlefield 2 and I no longer have to squint my eyes or get 6 inches from the board to hit a key.
It really adds value to a computer component that you would think is mundane. It is now a pleasure to type and just enjoy the backlighting.
Very solid construction except for the wrist ramp, kind of weak but not a deal killer. Ok if you do not have to move. USB only from what I have read due to the power draw. Also not good for use with KVM switch also. (have not tried either)

HE ALWAYS GETS WHAT HE WANTS BIG BABY:
I this for my self mine finally died on me. I want one that had a few more options & was prettier then the one I have had for 10 years. I found this one when it came I loved how it looked, cost of it, way it felt, everything about it. So did my husband. As always some how it became "His new keyboard". ITS ok I found another keyboard by "SAITEK" that had the same options & w/a few more. It was shipped fast, price was great, felt great, works great, & I love the light up keyboard. So its 5 *****'s with a A+ attached, Thanks and Great Job, Saint Paul, MN

The saitek Keyboard is awesome. i bought it primarily because of the backlighting and because it was the only one of its kind like it with good reviews. there were some cheaper, but the reveiews for those said they broke within the first week. i was going to make my own, because it just kind of came to me, but this product is perfect. it is exactly what i wanted and more. it even has volume control on it, which is great! so i seriously think all keyboards should be backlit, so go ahead and get this one.

Excellent keyboard. I love the soft feel of the keys and the gentle blue glow. I don't use the wrist support due to space limitations, but it still feels fine. Definitely one of the best choices I could have made in this price range. I don't think other backlit keyboards could compare for the price.
The only possible issue I could see is that the silver paint on the keys might wear away, and allow too much light through - obscuring the letter. I'll try to be mindful of that and not play with the keys too much if I'm waiting for a webpage to load.

I dont see what people have to complain so much about this item, it works perfectly in the dark and its lighting is fine. People say it needs to be brighter but I think it is fine. The only problem I see with it is that when you are leaning back or not directly over it the keys like print screen scroll lock and all those others, you can see them very well. It feels really nice when you type on it, not to hard to type.
I recommend this to anyone exspeccially gamers. I play BattleField 2 in the dark when I couldnt have before. GREAT KEYBOARD
