Ever find yourself unable to sleep and feel like browsing the web or getting some work done on the computer but can't turn the lights up for fear of disturbing someone else? This keyboard is for you.
Perfect for anyone who wishes to do their computing in the dark or are forced to work on a computer in low-lighting conditions.
This piece of hardware is solidly constructed with a nice, long USB cord to allow for flexibility of placement. Offering 3 brightness levels and some shortcut keys for volume control.
Not exactly a feature-rich keyboard. However, if you are simply looking for an inexpensive keyboard that has backlighting, your search is over. This model only has one color (blue) unlike the more expensive Saitek model that sports 3 colors. But again, if you want a backlit keyboard with minimal frills, check this unit out.

Since most computer desks these days try to save space by having a slide out keyboard tray, it also seems that the F and number keys remain in the dark. I have always had a problem seeing them in their little dark space and have to either 'trial and error' them or pull the keyboard out to see them. I love gaming in the dark and no matter how well you know a keyboard..sometimes it's nice to look down in the dark and see those keys. Also, the keyboard is wonderful to type on.
My only complaint is that I would actually like the bright setting to be a little brighter. There are three settings: High, Low, and off. I find low to be useless and high to be what I would call low. This being one of the few quality keyboards of it's type, I find this one well worth the price. (I saw adds in the UK for a similar 'letter lit' one but have yet to investigate).

My keyboard was shipped and here in no time. The packing was professionally done, no way that the keyboard would have been damaged during shipment. I purposely waited before submitting my review so I could test drive the keyboard. If anyone does late night/darkness typing, as I do, THIS is the item you should purchase. The keys are lit enough to see properly, but has an on/off switch so you can turn the backlight off during lighted computer use. It is totally awesome!!! I hope this never breaks down, but should it, I hope I can order another. Thank you for whoever invented this. It has improved my productivity on the pc more than you know. I also kept the plastic that it came in on the keyboard, and taped it with clear tape. That way it stays clean and no crumbs/ashes will spill into the keys. This keyboard is worth typing on plastic. :-)Customer Review: Best keyboard I've ever used

I've had my Saitek Eclipse keyboard for 4 years now and I still love it just as much as the day I got it! My overall favorite feature is the backlight, which I have no complaints about (for the picky users: the left half of the spacebar seems to be the brightest part, and the Pause/Break key is the dimmest). The keys have great feedback and have become somewhat louder after 4 years of constant pressing, but still much quieter than other keyboards I've used. Despite what other customers have reported, none of my keys have "worn" down. I'd say it still looks brand new, minus a few scratches here and there from dropping things on it. I'm back here now to buy another one as a birthday present for a friend, and even though there have been two revisions since this original model, I still prefer it.Customer Review: great illuminated keyboard

I bought this a few months ago to replace my previous backlit keyboard which quit working. It was a different make and model. I have been very pleased with this one so far. I like the touch and responsiveness and for me, at least, the backlighting is perfect. It has two brightness levels and off but I just leave it on the high setting. I do a lot of graphics work and gaming in an unlit room and this keyboard makes that easy. The volume controls and mute button are useful and handy. Other than that it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles but that is just fine with me. It is a good size, has a nice touch, looks cool and is quite usable in a dark room. It isn't cluttered with a lot of keys I would never use anyway, so for me it has been a very good fit.
