Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Saitek Eclipse II Backlit Keyboard (PK02AU)Customer Review: Perfect for Me.... Summary: 5 Stars
Just recieved this today so I cannot comment on the key wear issue, but the keyboard is very solid compared to any other I have used. The backlighting is strong enough for me; (I am typing now with the monitor as the only light in the room). I do not use this keyboard for gaming, so I cannot comment on that, but for ordinary typing, and surfing, it is perfect....AND FUN TOO! I have read that the late-production keyboards have been upgraded to prevent key wear...let's see; but even if they do wear, the company will gladly replace any worn keys for free...for me, at least, the look and feel of this keyboard is so nice that I don't care about replacing keys if I have too. Sofar as keystrokes, it has a perfect balance of travel and spring..."quiet keys" are nice too. GO 4 IT!
Customer Review: Wonderful keyboard! Summary: 5 Stars
I have tried many keyboards and own 4. Just bought this one and love it! The draw for me was the purple backlighting (blue and red are the other options), but the feel and placement of the keys is ultimately more important. There is a slight leathery texturizing to the keys that is very pleasant. Also, I'm working from home on a ThinkPad (external mouse, flatscreen monitor and keyboard homeoffice setup) and this keyboard sufficiently mimics the key layout, which is not true of Logitech and others (i.e. backspace, arrows, Ctrl, etc. are where I need them to be). I also own quite a few mice (including wireless/Bluetooth) and wanted to avoid a keyboard/mouse set, which are becoming ubiquitous.
This keyboard was a very pleasant surprise that I enjoy constantly.
Customer Review: I love it! Summary: 5 Stars
This keyboard is awesome...the keys are very sturdy, but not TOO sturdy, meaning you don't need to use a lot of extra pressure to type anything; its not too flimsy either so your hands feel very used to the qwerty pad. It doesnt make a lot of noise either, in case you're worried about bothering that easily irritable someone 3 feet away from you. Of course, the lights are the biggest selling point for this item, and of course, the lights are brilliant. I mean, its not a necessity for a keyboard, not even if you use it in the dark (by now I think most people don't need to look at the keys to use a keyboard) but its a very nice little added aesthetic value to the keyboard. The lights do work, don't get me wrong, but I'd still be completely satisfied without the lights.
Customer Review: Researched and purchased Summary: 5 Stars
It was three months before I decided on this keyboard. I initially wanted another Logitech or Microsoft keyboard, but I got the idea to do a little research. I looked over many websites listing the top 10 or 5 best keyboards, and this Saitek Eclipse II kept popping up on every list! So, I decided to go ahead and order it; I'm very glad that I did. The keys are responsive and much better spaced, especially compared to the packed-in keys on most other keyboards. I like the back-lighting, although I don't use it often. The media area is just what I need so I can listen to my music while I work on my computer. After a couple months of use, I have absolutely no complaints. I may even purchase another one in case this one dies, hopefully many years down the road. Get it!
Customer Review: A great find Summary: 5 Stars
I have been having problems with keyboards lately, either how the keys feel when you type, how well they were manufactured, or just the overall look. This is my first keyboard with illuminated keys and I wanted to try it out since most of the time I type either in the dark or dim lights on in the room. I got this keyboard for only $49.99 with the Amazon Prime discount and it's definitely worth it. I love how the keys feel when you type and it actually lets me type faster and more accurately than with the past 3 keyboards I had. I like the purple lighting the best! I find that most products have red and blue as an effect but not usually purple. I like how you can change the light settings. I will definitely be using this keyboard for quite awhile!
