Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Saitek Eclipse II Backlit Keyboard (PK02AU)Customer Review: My favorite keyboard ever! Summary: 5 Stars
What can I say? I love mine and I just bought 2 more for my family. The keys have just the right amount of sensitivity and are pretty quiet. Everything has a "quality" look and feel. The style is a bit curvy and altogether elegant. The option to use the adjustable backlight is exceptionally practical in less-than-perfect lighting, and it's fun to change the lighting colors. (Yes, the keys actually allow the light to show up through them, so you can type in the dark if you want to!) Altogether, it's my all-time favorite keyboard, and if mine ever dies (I've had it for over 2 years already, and it still looks 100% new with NO fading of the letters) then I'll replace it with the same one again. Great product and definitely worth the extra cost compared to the usual boring run-of-the-mill keyboards out there!
Customer Review: Great Keyboard!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought one of these keyboards for my sister and after using it several times while helping her with projects, I decided I had to have one myself. One of the first things you notice when you take it out of the box is that it is heavy. It doesn't feel cheap and delicate. Second it has a lighted keyboard. My middle name is "mole". I live by the light of my computer monitor, and now I've expanded my light through the keyboard. It is great to see what you are doing even though light is limited. It has three colors that you can cycle through with one button. Although the devault, blue, comes up each time you boot, you can switch to red or magenta very easily. The keys when typing are also just right to the touch. I really think this is a great keyboard and would recommend it to anyone, especially "moles".
Customer Review: Plenty bright and great product! Summary: 5 Stars
My 3-color lighted Eclipse II keyboard works great, plenty bright - I like it a lot. As to the reviews mentioning the backlighting of the keys being too dim - I'm thinking Saitek may have fixed the too-dim light situation by the time I ordered mine, because the key lighting is plenty bright - I can see the keys fine in a dark room with the dimmer knob not even turned up all the way. The red is the dimmest, but is still adequate to light all the keys when turned all the way up. Its touch takes a little getting used to after using a Dell and loving the old "IBM Selectric" keyboards - I'm a very fast typist and very particular about my keyboards. Saitek's touch is a "touch" too stiff, but it's close enough to make it worthwhile. So far no problems at all with the keyboard (about 3-4 months in).
Customer Review: A Very Fine Keyboard Indeed - The Saitek Eclipse II (PK02AU) Summary: 5 Stars
I read reviews on this keyboard until I passed out and decided to give it a try. It is everything that Saitek says it is and it lives up to the hundreds of positive reviews. The nice solid feel and the exceptional "touch" of the keys make it a joy to type on. As a matter of fact, this keyboard is the only computer related item that I have ever purchased that my wife complimented, thought the price was right and asked me to get her one for work. The only thing I wish was a little different would be a slightly longer cable. My computer desk has a slide out shelf/keyboard tray and the cord doesn't quite let it slide out all the way. I'm sure the length meets industry standards...it's just the nature of my particular setup. Buy one, today. Amazon had a great price and free shipping too.
Customer Review: The best keyboard I've ever owned. Summary: 5 Stars
I've been typing on various keyboards for 20 years now, and nothing is comparible to the old IBM mainframe keyboards, which had a great feel to them. I've hated every lightweight generic keyboard I've encountered, and this one stays put. On a whim, I purchased this keyboard from another site, at a great price. Well, my only regret is not purchasing another to use at work. The lighting is adequate if you're simply typing to the light of your monitor, like I frequently do at home. I wish it were a little brighter, but overall, I love this keyboard, and when the price is right, I'll get another. I prefer the purple, dislike the red, and can deal with the blue. When the computer is rebooted, it automatically reverts back to blue, which I don't consider an inconvenience whatsoever...
