Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Saitek Eclipse II Backlit Keyboard (PK02AU)Customer Review: Illuminating! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought the Saitek Eclipse II after first purchasing a cheaper illuminated keyboardand being bitterly disappointed. My first keyboard was cheaply made and completely useless in the dark, so i was a bit wary in making another purchase. I needn't have worried.
The Saitek keyboard made an impression right out of the box; it had a sleek design and had the "heavy" feel of a quality-made product. Once I had it hooked up to my PC, i knew I'd made the right choice.
I do a lot of typing at night after my family is asleep, and I am able to type easily with the illuminated keys. It's very easy to change the backlight color, although I stick to the blue myself. I've read that others would prefer a brighter backlight, but it has proved quite adequate for my needs. The lighting is adjustable and can be turned of for daytime use, but where's the fun in that? The multimedia keys worked fine in Windows media player. The key function is very smooth and there are rubber pads to minimize sliding.
All in all, I have no complaints at all with this keyboard. An excellent value for the money.
Customer Review: Best darned Keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
I intended to get the best new wireless keyboard I could get; planned to spend about $100. I read the reviews of all the Microsoft, Kensington and Logitech keyboards and found many complaints about all of the wireless keyboards, from reliability to ergonomics to features and functionality.
So I decided to look at reviews of all keyboards to see which ones got the best ratings. I checked Cnet, PC Magazine, [...] reviews like this, etc. One name kept coming up: Saitek, and the latest model, the Eclipse II. Only thing was: no wireless.
After thinking it through about how far away from the PC I get when working and all, I decided to give this one a try. I'm glad I did because I could not be happier with the product! It's well made, nice hefty feel, great touch, and the backlighting is fantastic when darkness is falling or a storm pops up.
I'd reccomend this to anyone, and it was only about $[...] if I remember correctly, so about half what I planned to spend. That'll cover some add'l SD cards or something! It's easily the best keyboard I've owned or used.

Customer Review: Fantastic Keyboard with Lightning Summary: 5 Stars
Been keyboarding for 35 year or so and always had the best of best when it comes to keyboards. Have to give up my "Classic Option 101 Keyboard" by IBM - both of them a work and home. They were just too much on the tactile response and it was beginning to fatigue my joints. So, I tried the Eclipse III. BIG MISTAKE! Its keystrokes are very mushy and it was way too WIDE. Felt like I was reaching for the stars to get my mouse and the keys are spread out too much. This keyboard had a well-built feel to it, the keystrokes provided ample tactile feedback to fingertips, the keys are big and nice yet compact but still spaced well, it's the classic 101 layout for the most part, there is a small knob to adjust the lighting and you can still use you own wrist support or theirs. In a word this keyboard is just AWESOME for day or night, home or work, etc. I'm buying another for work. NOTE: Some will prefer the mushy Eclipse III more for it less force to hit the keys however it will dramatically increase you errors if you are a super-fast typist like me. You cannot go wrong with this keyboard for the price.
Customer Review: A Keyboard worthy of your every stroke Summary: 5 Stars
Man, I bought a Keyboard from Amazon, and a Razor Diamondback mouse from TigerDirect. The Keyboard that I'm typing on is definitely a better deal, this sleek sexy beast has never had sticky keys, and its a little on the heavy side which is a good thing. I like things that are built well, and this keyboard is no exception. If your a heavy gamer the macros might be a little lacking, but I'm not a huge WoW fanatic. The keyboard has a backlight which you can change to a neon Blue, a neon Red (my favorite), or a neon Purple, all which look sleek and sexy in the dark. you have a knob where you can adjust the brightness of the backlight and I would suggest turning it off during the day. The backlight isn't bad I've seen brighter, but I appreciate the fact that when I look at it it doesn't blind me. the standard armrest does help a lot, but to people who are on their computer a lot will probably want custom armguards because there is no padding on it. Bottom line those Germans know how to build a keyboard and this is by far the best I ever had the privilege to own, and would recommend it to anyone.
Customer Review: Best keyboard I've ever had! Summary: 5 Stars
I never really thought I'd spend this much on a keyboard(it's not THAT expensive, I'm just used to cheapish keyboards), but I have to say it was definitely worth it. I switched from an Adesso mini keyboard and the difference is immense. It's extremely durable and very comfortable to type on. I really like the feel of the keys, it's a good in between feel, not too stiff or springy for me at all. I've been using it practically every day for a few months now with no problems whatsoever.
Aside from that, the keyboard looks great. The only thing that bothers me a tiny bit is that I prefer the purple and red colors, and the lights indicating number lock, caps lock, etc. are always blue. But that's not a huge deal, and I love being able to pick the color and intensity of the backlight. The media controls are a nice extra, but I don't really use them too much.
I'd recommend this keyboard to anyone who spends a lot of time at their pc, especially gamers. It looks awesome, feels great, and is well made--you really can't go wrong!
