Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Saitek Eclipse Backlit Keyboard - Red LED ( PZ30AUR )Customer Review: Saitek Eclipse Red Backlit Keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
I have wanted a backlit keyboard for some time but I wanted one that was not so bright (like the Blue backlit keyboards) that it caused eye strain in low light conditions, and I wanted one that did not cost over $100.00. This was an excellent choice. I love the red LED back-lighting! I did not use the accompanying wrist support... its hard plastic and I was uncomfortable with the positioning.
PROS:
Red LED's are not as harsh on your eyes in dark rooms.
Keyboard has an excellent feel and layout.
Has a button to change the light level (three settings: High, Low, and Off).
Didn't make my bank account cry when I clicked on the purchase button.
CONS:
LED brightness is not uniform across the keyboard. There are brighter spots around the edges.
Included wrist support kind of sucks. Buy your own.
Overall it is worth the money!
Customer Review: Great Gaming Keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
I play the PC game Oblivion which I have to play in a darken room as I have to go into caves and mines etc. I have been playing on an older Logitech keyboard. I use the WSAD and C keys a lot. I always have difficulty finding the C key, in the middle of a battle on the logitech.
The first thing I noticed on this board is that the board itself is smaller and the keys are larger making it all that easier to locate the keys in a dark room. with this board you have three options; a non lit board, a lit board and a brighter lit board.
This board also has an adjustable palm rest which, can be pushed flushed against the keyboard or pulled out an inch or two so most ppl should find themselves a comfortable position.
The F & J key have that raised bit on them to making finding those keys then easier.
So far I'm very happy with this keyboard
Customer Review: Awesome Product! Summary: 5 Stars
I have to say, once again I am impressed with the quality of Saitek products. This is the second time I have bought something from them and I will continue to do so in the future.
Pros:
The keyboard is well made, the keys don't seem like the paint will rub off very easily. The brightness controls for the back-lighting are genius and set to the correct levels. The sound controls were the reason I bought this particular item, and they worked right out of the box, no drivers necessary. Amazon delivered a day early.
Cons: No matter how much I beg it won't make me a sandwich.
Other:I would recommend getting the red version as it's easier on the eyes and doesn't hurt your night vision. I previously had the creative Fatal1ty keyboard which was blue and has no media controls. This is a vast improvement.
Customer Review: First gaming keyboard Summary: 5 Stars
This was my first gaming keyboard. I went from an OLD Dell keyboard to this. Since red is my favorite color and I HATE the blue LED's, I saw this one. At the low price, you CAN NOT beat this. I've had this for 3 years now. Still kickin. I do plan on upgrading to the Saitek Ecplise 2 soon. It's very hard to find a red led backlight keyboard. This Saitek, hands down, is the best. All my friends who type on it, want it. The backlight is perfect brightness. Although you have the option to dim and dimmer. Mute, Sound up and sound down. The keys also pop off very easy for those cleaning jobs.
My keyboard has been with me threw and threw. And still going strong. Great paired up with the Razer Diamonback Salarmander Red. I do have the new Razer Lachesis on the way. (Wraith Red)
BUY IT!!!!!
Customer Review: Great addition to gaming rig! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this keyboard nearing on a year ago, and I still love it. I was going for a black silver and red motif for my new computer, and this fit in absolutely perfectly.
The keys are smooth and quiet, and the red backlight however useless since I type by touch, gives the aesthetic appeal that I wanted! I also hate the average modern keyboards having piles of useless specialized buttons that I'll never use, so I'm a bit of a minimalist--but this keyboard is just perfect; the volume buttons in the top right corner are relatively useful, and are out of the way, so I don't mind them too much.
The only gripe I have with this keyboard, is that the silver paint on the keys is starting to flake off a little bit. Otherwise, I am extremely pleased with this purchase!
