I PURCHASED THE SVAT TO USE AT MY FRONT DOOR.WE SPEND ALOT OF TIME OUT ON OUR DECK AND CANNOT HEAR THE DOORBELL. ALSO THERE ARE TIMES WHEN WE DON'T, FOR WHATEVER REASON WANT TO ANSWER THE DOOR. I FOUND THE SVAT GX5203 A NICE SYSTEM FOR THE PRICE. PROS;OUTDOOR CAMARA, PORTABLE,GOOD ENOUGH PICTURE QUALITY,EASY TO SET UP AND USE. CONS;A/C ADAPTER HOOK-UP SOMEWHAT POORLY THOUGHT OUT,PICTURE QUALITY REALLY DIMINISHES WHEN BATTERIES ARE USED [MY EXPERIENCE],BATTERY LIFE. BUT ONCE I GOT EVERYTHING SET UP TO MY WANT/NEEDS I AM HAPPY AT THE RESULTS. I ALSO FIND THE PICTURE QUALITY NOT SO GOOD AT NIGHT, BUT THEN AGAIN, I DO NOT USE IT FOR NIGHT VEIWING. THERE ARE SOME OTHER FEATURES TO THIS SYSTEM THAT I HAVE NOT USED SO I CAN'T REALLY ACCESS THEM IE: RECORDING CAPABILITY, COMPUTER HOOK-UP.YES I WOULD RECOOMMEND THIS PRODUCT BASED ON MY EXPERICENCE'S WITH IT. Interesting how different reviews can vary. I bought this unit because my wife couldn't see who was at the front door without approaching the door. So this combination of camera and monitor looked like it would do the trick. Once it arrived, I installed the unit and we were off and running. There were a few drawbacks: (1)had problems powering the camera with a battery, (2)power cord with camera limits your placement options. Once I figured out that the AC connections was in the battery compartment the monitor was all set. For long term use, the battery option really won't work too well. The monitor picture did have some interference lines but not enough to distort the picture. We didn't really care about the mic/volume so we turned it down. Overall, not a bad product that keeps the wife feeling secure and happy.Customer Review: not good for security because no motion control, no recording, but it is acceptable for baby monitoring

the size is small and is light weighted which we can put it anywhere we like. The image quality is ok since it is powered by battery and it is 2.4G wireless connection. It is specially good in the dark, monitoring our new born baby.
The power port of the display maybe can be improved to have the ability to charge rechargable battery and having the port facing out side instead of inside like now. I think they have an issue regarding battery power combining with the external power suppiy, that's why their design forcing users to take out batterys to use the external power source. We are using it with batterys since we only use it monitoring our baby while she is sleeping and charging the battery after use it.

I bought the GX5203 for viewing my driveway and entryway, both of which are not visible to most parts of the house. I ended up using the camera to view the deer and wildlife coming to a corn feeder I have set up in the woods behind my house. It works great! Granted, It is an unobstructed view (lineof sight) from the feeder to where I have the monitor, but is at least 200 feet away and the recepction is crystal clear. The night viewing is even better than the day viewing because of the infrared capability. I would recommend this to any one who needs to keep an eye on something they can't normally view.Customer Review: Good enough

Installed the product within 10 minutes. Got it so my wife can keep an eye on the kids in the yard. Daytime works great. Can't see much at night. I added two extra cameras as the system allows three total. The third interfered with wireless router, so I am down to two cameras. Overall satisfied. I gave it four stars out of five because can't see much at night, but mobility of monitor was main reason for purchase.
