This is my first HDMI cable so I cannot compare it to other HDMI cables, but I can say it works great. I used it to connect a Samsung upconvert DVD player to a 42" 1080i Hitachi plasma screen and the picture is awesome. Despite what some makes advertise, digital signals do not need as good of cables as analog signals to ensure a good transmission. Digital signals are just a sequence of 1's and 0's (or on and off) while analog signals are much more subtle and complex making them more subject to electromagnetic interference.Customer Review: HDMI Cable bargain

I can't understand why people pay so much to buy HDMI cables at retail electronics stores like Best Buy,Circuit City or Radio Shack. The StarTech 15 foot HDMI cable is every bit as good as the Monster cables sold at those places for a tiny fraction of their costs. These cables transmit digital data so it really doesn't matter how thick they are as long as the wires transmit the digital data correctly. I wanted to avoid having to pay over 50 for an HDMI cable. My plan was to purchase these cable at a significantly reduced price expecting them to perform on par with the overpriced cables. My logic (not that it isn't without its flaws at times), HDMI cables are inherently superior, given they must adhere to certain specs. Ultimately, to call it an HDMI cable, it must perform at a certain level. I wasn't too worried, as it wasn't an expensive risk.Customer Review: Perfect cable for the price

This HDMI cable works just as well as any much more expensive cable you can find. I am very happy with the purchase. I bought two cables. One for my PS3 and one for my cable box. Both cables work exactly as intended. Picture and sound quality is the same HD quality as any other HD cable. Do not be tricked by snake-speak from salesmen. HDMI cables are created equal. HDMI cables worked great. I used them on my DVD and Xbox360. I had bought another cable before finding StarTech.com products paying 60$ for a HDMI cable. I could see no differnce between the 60$ cable and the ones I purchased from StarTech.com.
And of course I run a Dennon Receiver that converts my XBOX360 to 1080P. So the cables past my 1080p test.
I will be purchasing more.
