Customer Review: Great stuff- unless your careless.

I had 3 of these exact brackets over 2 years ago when I had my old setup, I knew once I started shooting off camera flash again I would try to find the same ones. They are pretty solid, again of course you cannot compare these to the brackets that are up in the $30+ price range, but they are still a great product. Like my title says, these things will last you unless you toss them around like a freaking toddler. My last set lasted me over 2 years while I used them almost every weekend, getting dropped occasionally and guess what- no stripped screws on the cold shoe...maybe because I didnt feel the need to tighten them down like the Incredible Hulk?
One thing though, im sure some of the newer photographers wont know this, but when you take the bracket out of the packaging you need to swap the places of the gold parts that screw inside.
meaning- the gold piece that goes onto the stand, and the part on top with the cold shoe need to be reversed. the way it comes package- when you adjust the angle of the swivel by releasing the lever and moving it, the umbrella will not swivel with your flash- this is the wrong way. by simply switching the pieces around- it corrects it, that way when you adjust your flashes angle- the umbrella will move with it- which is thew hole point. Its nothing major but its something that needs to be done before mounting an umbrella.
other then that- the product is great, pretty sure I will not have problems with it
