My house is over 120 years old. For the longest time I just accepted that my bedroom door wouldn't close properly, until one day it did... oops. My door latched shut, I went to open it and the doorknow fell off. When i tried to screw the knob back on, I accidentally pushed the spindle through and the other side of the doorknob fell off into my bedroom. At this point I was locked out of my bedroom. After 20 minutes of searching for a tool get the door open, I called my brother (at 3a.m., mind you) and had him come over with some pliers so that I could finally go to bed. Since then I have tried various temporary fixes, but they all would eventually fail so I had to keep a pair of pliers on each side of my bedroom door just in case. This replacement knob set arrived yesterday exactly as described, I immediately ran to my room and installed it. Then spent a good ten minutes opening and closing my door from each side, woo-hoo! The downside is my cats now think I'm neurotic.
