Bought this for a recent trip to Russia. Used it for charging batteries, laptop and small appliances. Did not use it for hair dryer, didn't want to take the chance. Worked flawlessly without need for adapters. Our hosts in Moscow were so impressed we left it with them as a thank you gift. It is quite heavy, but not a problem in a rolling suitcase and can get a little warm when pulling a heavy load. We will get another if we go overseas again.Customer Review: Works great - long cord!

Bought three for our long stay in Italy. Works great - the long cord makes it very convenient. We use it for our computers, i-pods, etc. I would recommend this product to anyone who is planning to travel and stay for awhile. The only drawback is that it is heavy (maybe a pound?) so if you're on the go, it might not be the best thing. But we are staying here for three months, so it is worth it to have and not cart all over the place....Customer Review: Worked for us, but.....

This is a very substantial converter, meaning when we received it we were surprised how heavy it was. (It weighs 2lbs.) My daughter took it to Spain and it worked great for her to charge her camera and phone. But one of the girls on her trip borrowed it for her hairdryer and it blew! I'm not sure if the voltage on her hair dryer could have been turned down??? Anyways if you just need it for phone or camera it's great.Customer Review: works fine

I purchased this converter before my trip to Europe. Had no problem with shipping, arrived in 1 day. I used it every day during the trip to charge my cell phone and netbook, and had no problem with it. It is really comfortable that the converter has that short cable with european-type plug. We used this on our recent trip to Germany. No issues, my wife used it with here lower voltage hair straightener. We also used it to charge our small electronics. This converter has a convenient feature with a 1-2 foot cord. This allowed us to place the converter box on the table, sink, nightstand, etc and still plug in when the receptacle was difficult to reach (very common in Europe).
