This product worked flawlessly. It's small, well built and tough. However, it's not fused! I read several negative reviews. Nearly all of them complain it burned out trying to provide MORE POWER (over 200 watts) than it's built for. This is perfect for (most) laptops, camera and cell phone chargers. It WILL BURN OUT trying to push blow dryers, curling irons, multiple external peripherals to a laptop, etc. Volts times amps = watts. It will only support 110 volt devices that draw at TOTAL of 1.8 amps or less. Read your labels before buying!!Customer Review: 220V/110 Converter

The Simran converter was used to supply my wife's hair flattener in the Philippines,(40W 110V). The plug had to be changed to the standard 2 prong used in the US. Quick trip to the hardware store fixed that in the States. I plugged it in 110V here in the States to see if it would put out 60V as read on an AC DVM. All was OK. Arrival in the Philipens proved a success. The unit worked flawlessly. We left it there as we had no use for it here. The only problem we had was, we had to promise to bring back 5 more on our next trip !.Customer Review: Worked just as we hoped

I tend to over-research items I buy and had my concerns about this power adapter given some of the reviews I had read. However, on our recent trip to Europe, it worked wonderfully - we charged iPhones, camera batteries and my shaver with it and had no issues. It is inexpensive compared to a number of alternatives and does have a good design with a cord vs. the unit itself plugging into the wall. The only concern we had was whether or not it would arrive in time for our trip - sure enough, it arrived the day before.Customer Review: Worked perfectly for France

We took this to France. We had been told that we didn't need it for our laptop, because the laptop comes with a transformer. But after plugging the laptop in with only the converter it started to flicker. So we used this baby with the transformer on it and it took away the flicker. Also used it for charging camera batteries and my curling iron. I was really confused reading all the reviews and what I should buy for our trip but this was a lifesaver.Customer Review: Worked great even with a straightener!

I recently traveled to Berlin, Germany on a 10 day trip and used this converter for the trip. I charged my cell phone, camera, and Zune with it. I also used it with my straightener. I know that it tells you not to use it with heating products, but as long at the voltage on your straightener is equal to or less than the voltage max on the converter, you will be fine. I used this converter each day for the entire 10 day period and never had a problem!
