Works well - used it for AAA, AA, and D batteries. The readings correlate with another battery charger I have. The scale doesn't mean anything, practically. It's either in the green or in the red. For $4, I don't care if I have to hold the battery in place to make the connection while it takes the reading.Customer Review: Great device!

Quick and easy, the tester reads the battery strength instantly and allows us to either use or recycle. It paid itself off in the first few minutes of use. I love this product. It save money because you can check the battery level before you recycle them. Every year I change all the flash light battery and useful for me to make sure that these battery are good especially for emergency. With all the toys in the house, it seems it takes more time finding charged batteries than the time they actually last. This works as advertised and was a good price. Checks all sizes of batteries. The SE Battery Tester is Simple to use and seems priced too low for all the services it provide; it tests AAA, AA, C, D and Buttons. All it requires you to do is pinch the battery in between the two contact or touch it to the top contact. Great buy for those who don't have one.
