Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sanyo Eneloop AAA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries (4 Pack)Customer Review: Eneloops are #1! Summary: 5 Stars
Eneloops are #1 in rechargeable battery technology today. The charge lasts longer than other more common NiMH cells, and though the AH rating of these cells is not so great, in slower discharge applications these will last much longer.
I use them in battery powered bicycle head/tail light applications, LED flashlights and remote sensors for humidity and temperature. Not particularly useful for digital cameras, since they demand so much current, that the capacity of the batteries to resist self discharge holds little benefit. Use your existing standard brands in that application.
I have purchased several sets of AA and AAA batteries, and I like these very much, particularly in a good slow charger. I have not tried them in a NiCd or conventional dumb battery charger. Should work fine, but as these are still a bit expensive, shortening their life by fast charging is not a great idea.
Customer Review: These batteries brought me back to the rechargable market Summary: 5 Stars
I recently purchased a high drain GPS'r. I love my screen as bright as I can get it and don't like it to (sleep) after sitting for awhile. These settings on the GPS'r unit would eat through Energizer Lithium Ultimates within two days. I quickly realized either I needed to switch my settings or get rechargable batteries. Its been many years since I have purchased rechargable batteries. I was able to use these batteries right out of the package in all of my devices, which is unheard of in a normal rechargable battery. I get about 8 hours of usefull life in my high drain GPS'r, which is two hours longer run time than brand name alkaline batteries. I bring along another set of rechargables just in case. These batteries are well constructed and work as advertised. If you want a battery that you can recharge and still has power after sitting for months, you won't be disappointed.
Customer Review: Good batteries Summary: 5 Stars
I've only had these batteries for about 2 weeks and they've exceeded expectation. I use a Sony ICD-P520 Voice Recorder everyday to record about 3 hours of lecture. I usually have to change out a pair of regular Alkaline Batteries after about 12 hours (4 days) of usage. These Eneloops have lasted just as long as Alkaline Batteries, maybe a little longer, WITH the additional aspect that they are rechargeable. Highly recommend these batteries for those who use AAA frequently; they will pay for themselves after a couple charges.
UPDATE 12-18-2010
Still using these batteries to this day, though not nearly as frequently. Compared to a pair of Energizers which I've had for the same amount of time, have seen less use, AND have since gone defective, I am very pleased with these Eneloop batteries.
Customer Review: Eneloops have withstood the test of time. Summary: 5 Stars
I started buying Eneloops when they were semi-new to the market a couple of years back, and have bought every one of them here at Amazon. I now own in upwards of 30 AA and 25 AAA Eneloops. I have refrained from writing a review of these until now - one of the reasons being that I wanted to see how they withstood the ultimate test for batteries - TIME!
Bottom line - these batteries of reliable, hold a charge for as long as any other rechargeable, and recharge back to original power without memory. I have been charging these with the Lacrosse charger (BC-9009) and always discharge first, then trickle charge at low amperage. These are a high quality battery, and have virtually replaced the need for Alkalines in my household due to the fact they hold their charge for so long on the shelf!
Customer Review: Eneloops are great batteries Summary: 5 Stars
Buy them, you'll like them. I've learned the hard way that low self-discharge batteries are the only rechargeables you should buy. There are Eneloops, Rayovac Hybrids (at Target), Radio Shack, and a few others, but personally I prefer the Eneloops. This was a pretty good price ($9.22 for 4 AAA) especially with free shipping. Other rechargables are dead within a few days of charging, but Eneloops and other low-self discharge batteries will hold a charge for over a year, which is why they can sell them charged and keep them on the shelf at the store. We've completely switched to Eneloops and only buy (and dispose of) alkaline batteries in 9V, since they don't yet make a 9V low-self discharge battery as far as I know. I have no connection to Sanyo or any other battery company.
