Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sanyo Eneloop AA NiMH Pre-Charged Rechargable Batteries with Charger - 4 Pack

Customer Review: Awesome batteries for Xbox controllers and Harmony remotes
Summary: 5 Stars

I originally had the Xbox 360 Play and Charge kit, and the batteries got to the point to where they would only last a minute or two unplugged. Not very convenient...

I picked some of these up and couldn't be more happier. Apparently there are different ones within the same model number, but I got the white-top. They last FOREVER in an Xbox 360 controller, and literally months and months in my Logitec Harmony remote. Additionally, they look awesome and it's nice to know that my batteries aren't ending up in a landfill and tainting my water (I'm aware of recycling, but I've seen our garbage guys empty our recycle bin into the back of the garbage truck where the garbage also goes, so there's no guarantee my recycled batteries are meeting the same fate).

$20 may seem like a lot, but the four-pack I originally bought have been charged 10+ times so far, which is much cheaper than 40 batteries, and they last about twice as long between charges as an ordinary AA.

Customer Review: Excellent Rechargeable Solution
Summary: 5 Stars

I've been using Eneloop rechargeable batteries for several years now, mainly in flashlights (every night on my bicycle commute home) and digital cameras, and have had excellent results. They hold their charge very well, even if not used for months at a time.

I do follow the general rule that you should do a full discharge (followed by a full charge) every 3-4 months to "re-form" the cell, but other than that there is very little maintenance required.

This 4 cell charger works very well, but it should be noted that it only has 2 charging circuits (not 4), so it will only charge the batteries in pairs (no single cell charging). If you need a charger that will charge a single AA or AAA cell then get the 2 cell charger, model # SEC-MDR02TG3U.

There are other more expensive chargers available that have "break-in" and "discharge" modes (among other things), but for general use I've found this little charger/battery combo to be an excellent value.

Customer Review: Wow!
Summary: 5 Stars

Guess what, I opened the box, pulled the batteries out, and have been using the batteries for well over a week taking hundreds of pics with my new Nikon SB-600 Speedlight Flash for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras. What's even more amazing, is that I likely can do this for a few more weeks. Try that with any other batteries and what you'll get are empty batteries that may get damaged by using them without charging them first. OK you say, I don't need to use them right away, well don't think of charging them and throwing them in your camera bag, as by the time you need them, you'll need to charge them again, as most nimh batteries lose 1-2% of charge a day--from just sitting around! Don't you buy rechargeable batteries for their efficiency? Well when you have to constantly recharge them, that's not efficient!

These batteries are the real deal!

Customer Review: Hands down the best NiMH batteries out there
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought these batteries over 2 years ago for use with my Fenix flashlight, which I use as a bike light. In my opinion, these are the best rechargeable NiMH AA batteries you can buy.

I recharged them about once every 2 weeks for the past 2 years, and the run-time on my Fenix light hasn't changed at all! Even when I carry the spare batteries with me without using them, I get the same run-time as when I first charged them. Also, they don't seem to have any memory effect, meaning that I can run them down to half capacity, recharge them, and still have full capacity for use. For current-regulated LED flashlights, I'm convinced that these are the best rechargeable NiMH batteries that you can buy!

In comparison, my energizer rechargeable batteries could barely hold a charge after 6 months of use. After charging them and not using them for a few days, they all had nearly discharged completely.

Hope this helps...

Customer Review: The Only Batteries I use
Summary: 5 Stars

These battery will hold a charge while being stores and discharge almost no power.
I leave them inside my xbox360 controllers, wireless keyboards and mouse, LED flashlights.
All of the items are things that I use intermittently. Some more than others.
But in the case of the flashlights and controllers, sometimes I wouldn't even use them for several months at a time... possibly for a full year (flashlight)
Had I tried this with NiMH batteries, I would find the battery dead, and that would be it for me.
But with these I can just randomly grab my camera and be out the door and know the batteries are still good.
They're very convenient to have.
A bit expensive when first purchasing them, but I believe they pay for themselves in time.
I dunno if people say this about batteries, but these are pretty sexy looking too.
I don't think they have the charger with the sliding cover anymore though.
