I use AA batteries as part of my job. Plowing through as many as 15 to 20 a day in my alkaline days. Several years ago I made the switch to NiMH rechargables for both environmental and economical reasons.
I can safely say I have tried just about every make and capacity of AA NiMH battery out there and the Sanyo 2700mAh are, so far, the best for the money. I use high drain devices so the lower capacity batteries end up being too much of a hassle to change all the time. These fit my purposes perfectly.
If you are looking for some AA for your remote control or some other low drain devices go with a cheaper NiMH but for high drain devices these are the best.

I have been using Sanyo NiMH rechargeables for several years now. I am impressed with the quality, and the price is quite reasonable through Amazon. I recharge them in a LaCrosse Technology charger that I also purchased at Amazon. As with any rechargeable, the slowest recharging rate is the best for long life (it minimizes heat generation in the battery). The LaCrosse lets you select the charging current. The batteries are mainly used in a Nikon SB 800 flash, and, although I haven't counted the number of flashes, I've never run out of charge (150 pictures taken one day). The 2,700 mAh is bigger than many other AAs, but the charger handles it fine.Customer Review: Amazing rechargable batteries!

These are really great! They last very long, much longer than anything else I've ever used. We've had them for more than a year now, and they still work and charge and work again as perfectly as a year ago. They work with any standard charger. In fact that's how I came to buying them: at one point I had bought a Digital Concepts batteries+charger kit, which turned out to consist of a decent charger and really crappy batteries. I had to shop for new ones, found these from Sanyo, and we couldn't be happier with them. The only problem is that we don't have enough for all our devices, so I'm shopping for more of them as soon as I finish typing this review!Customer Review: Excellent Batteries

These batteries can run for a long time on high drain devices. I use them in my mp'3 player and digital camera regularly and I can usually expect about a days worth of on and off usage. I previously had the Sanyo 2500 mAh and were impressed by their charge time and the amount of usage time that i got out of them. However with a big trip coming i decided i needed some more power to carry around with me so i opted out for these. Fast charge time using Sanyo's Super Quick Charger. I highly recommend this battery. If you buy these you know that you'll be getting a quality and reliable battery.Customer Review: Amazing Batteries!

I've used a number of types of rechargeable batteries from various companies in the past. I bought these batteries to power my Olympus FL50 flash for my DSLR camera. Other rechargeable AA batteries only last for 150-200 flashes, with a slower and slower recycle time in between flashes. These Sanyo batteries lasted me over 1500 shots on one charge, with less than a second of recycle time in between flashes; that is simply amazing.
I highly recommend these batteries to anyone who has a power intensive device that requires a quick recycle time.
