I didn't even need to use the disk. It works as a Plug 'n Play, meaning you just plug it in and the "new hardware wizard" on your computer finds it and installs the drivers. Loading up the disk probably will just confuse the computer if it's a newer computer.
It let my older HP printer connect to my newer computer. Great product!

Do you have an OLD printer you would like to tie to that NEW lap top? I did and at first I didn't think it could be done but a little quick research on Amazon and I found this beauty. The Sabrent cable is very well made and has the look of quality and ruggedness. I just plugged it in and everything took off without a hitch. (PC w/Windows XP)Customer Review: Great product

This cable came as advertised. Proper length and worked "out of the box." I DID take the previous reviews into consideration by not plugging the printer in until Windows XP loaded the drivers for the USB plug. After drivers for the USB were loaded, I plugged in a Lexmark 3200 ink jet printer, and Windows loaded the drivers for the printer.Customer Review: Works great so far! Inexpensive solution to my cabling problem.

Despite my reluctance to buy this product after reading a couple bad reviews, I'm really glad I went through with the purchase. Item arrived in a timely fashion and I didn't even need to use the CD since I'm running Win7. Great solution for $15 including shipping, when the only cable like this at my local B-Buy cost $35 !!! I had trouble connecting an old All-In-One Printer/Fax/Scanner/Copier to my new Dell computer.....just could not find the "right" cable anywhere. I read about this product and decided to try it. It did exactly what it said it would do, with great results, all in all. I highly recommend it for anyone in a similar predicament.
