Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sabrent SBT-UPPC USB to Parallel 6-Foot Printer CableCustomer Review: Works with iMac Summary: 5 Stars
Package says nothing about compatibility with mac, but when I installed it between my 8-year-old HP Laserjet and my two-week-old iMac (OS 10.5), there was no problem. No software was needed for installation or use, or if there was, my Mac did it automatically. Cable comes with a 3-inch laser disc that was not needed, and probably would have got stuck in my disc drive if I had been dumb enough to try it.
Customer Review: Worked for me Summary: 5 Stars
Worked perfectly out of the box with Vista and an old brother HL-1440 laser printer. Windows provided a printer driver automatically and I did not have to use the provided driver for the cable adapter. I suspect the trouble the one-star people are having is more of a quality control issue with the cable rather than an incompatibilty problem. Perhaps I lucked out and got a good one.
Customer Review: WWORKS GREAT!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have an old HP LaserJet 5 that still works great and is the workhorse of my Home Office. I made the full switchover to Mac computers and I needed a USB solution to connect it to my Apple Time Capsule. This looked like it would be what I needed so I rolled the dice and bought it. I connected it to my printer and Time Capsule and to put it simply ... IT WORKED!!!
Customer Review: Plug N Play all the Way Summary: 5 Stars
The moment I plugged this into my Quad Core Vista system it detected the printer (HP Laserjet 6P), by the moment I got up from under the desk, it was done installing and ready to print. Can not beat it for the price. Just make sure your printer can handle the Parallel to USB transfer, some older printers won't work. Check with your printer manufacturer.
Customer Review: Works as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
Yep, after reading the reviews here, I got it to convert an aging Epson Photo EX a friend had given me from parallel to USB. Worked fine out of the box -- just plugging it in on XP and the printer showed up instantly (it was then a bungathon to get the printer to work -- ink was too old -- but I was happy with the cable & price).
