Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sabrent SBT-UPPC USB to Parallel 6-Foot Printer CableCustomer Review: Retrofit Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this product to connect an older parallel printer to a new computer with only USB ports. The idea was wonderful but useless. After many phone calls with Canon and HP it was determined the printer was too old to be compatible. The people at BuyDirect could not have been nicer. As their policy states they happily give refunds, no questions asked. When I explained the situation they gave me a full refund including the shipping. This is a company I would use in the future.
Customer Review: Excellent cable! Summary: 5 Stars
Ordered this to hook up my old HP Laserjet 1100 to newer computer. Had to also order a centronics to mini-centronics adapter, but that's HP's fault for using such an odd-ball connector! Attached adapter, plugged it in and XP installed printer without any additional drivers. Printer appeared in every program and works without any hiccups. Just can't use scan function of 1100A when using a USB/Parallel adapter cord, but I knew this anyway and didn't expect it to work.
Customer Review: Works perfectly, great price Summary: 5 Stars
I was stunned to receive the cable the day after I ordered it! I had to check to see if I had inadvertently ordered next-day delivery. But no, that wasn't even an option. The S&H charge was $5.49, for a total of $15.48
I plugged it into my laptop and into my old HP Laserjet 4L. Windows XP did all the work and I was printing in no time. BTW I do like that old HP Laserjet. As a writer, I chiefly need clean manuscript pages. It's nice to be able to keep using it.
Customer Review: Great Product! Summary: 5 Stars
This cable worked perfectly, right out of the box. I have an older HP Laserjet that I wanted to connect to my new laptop, but didn't want to mess with bulky USB adapters. The service was great (cable arrived within 4 days) and although it comes packaged with a CD with drivers, I didn't need to use it... WinXP recognized the cable as a plug-and-play device, and installed my printer on its own. I highly recommend this product!
Customer Review: Worked great for me (64-bit Vista and HP Laserjet 5MP) Summary: 5 Stars
Cable is 6 feet long as described, and it comes with a mini-CD labeled "DRIVER", but I didn't need it. I just plugged the cable into my PC (running 64-bit Windows Vista) and Windows immediately recognized it and found a driver. Then I plugged it into my printer (HP LaserJet 5MP), and Windows automatically added the printer. So I printed a webpage from Internet Explorer and it printed fine! Couldn't have been any easier.
