Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Sabrent SBT-EKU25 Ultra Slim USB 2.0 2.5-inch IDE/PATA Hard Drive Enclosure (Black)Customer Review: Excellent. Summary: 4 Stars
Recently having had a laptop just blow up on me- left me with several internal components within the laptop.
Of which, being an 80 gig harddrive that had all of the previously completed work on it- so I needed that work.
After ordering and having read the reviews about how "cheap" this product is- I was a little skeptic.
But when it came in and I hooked everything up- it ran beautifully for the price at which I bought it for.
I did have to put a single index card wrapped around it, just to prevent the minor irritation of "some rattling" but of which was hardly any.
Connecting to the computer was a breeze, and I love carrying around my 10+ gigs of music anywhere I want with my laptop. :)
Enjoyable, and cost effective.
Thanks Amazon!
Customer Review: Easy and cheap Summary: 4 Stars
This is the second HD enclosure I bought to resurrect my wife's old Dell laptop's HD. I made a mistake on the first one and got a SATA, when I needed a PATA. My error. I was careful to order a PATA one this time, so you can imagine my irritation when the box it's packaged in labeled it as SATA. I almost sent it back without opening it. Nonetheless, it is PATA, and works great. It showed up right away on my wife's new Lenovo laptop running Windows7.
It is a little loose inside, but if that really bothered me I could shim it with a piece of styrofoam or a wad of paper. Since it's just going to be an occasional backup HD, that doesn't matter to me. The screws do not really screw in that well, but that does not seem to hamper its overall performance.

I had a SimpleTech drive that I thought went bad. When I could hear the drive spin up yet received a faulty USB connection error message on several computers I connected it to, I cracked open the housing and took out the drive.
I found it was PATA and I searched online for a cheap replacement. I found this model and ordered it. It's extremely compact. Don't expect any shock absorption from the housing but it worked great with the 2.5 PATA drive and I was able to get back at my data.
I've only used it 3 times for 15 minute use since I got it. I cannot attest to it's functional longevity. It's perfect for laptop travel and large USB transfer use. I don't recommend this model for an always on external housing.
Customer Review: NOT BAD, NOT BAD AT ALL! Summary: 4 Stars
i think that actually, this might be the best priced enclosure for 2.5" pata hard drive. so easy to open at one end, just insert your hard drive to the slots, push in and you are right away in business. the aluminum black finish is quite smooth, only the two tiny screws were not easy to screw into the small and tight holes on both sides, but since it's a very tight fit, you don't actually need the screws. amazon.com's listing price of this item is too high since it could easily get from shop4tech under $7.00 each and absolutely free shipping. i just got two from their website for only $15.00+- with CA tax included.
Customer Review: No hassle... no fuss... it just works !! Summary: 4 Stars
This is a very small case (just as big as the 2.5" HDD it encloses) without any cooling fan or antishock protection that would make it for the long haul... it's not for any road warrior, it works best for technicians or someone who want to use an old spare HDD left out from a notebook or may need to fix a bad HDD from a crashed notebook. Don't take it along with your gear since it won't protect your HDD that much or use it for long periods of time since the HDD can get very hot and there's no ventilation or fan but the good part is that it does work as expected with stable USB 2.0 data speeds.
